The opinion of part of the members of the Council was that
they would be fortunate to have a good man on the Board who would be willing to
.donate his time, they did not wish to cast a "No" vote, but thought in fairness to
anyone to be considered that the Councilmen should have an opportunity to meet the
proposed member before taking a vote. On roll call vote the motion was lost 4 to
3, Councilmen Granger, Spillers.and Shift noting "Aye". Mayor Werder thought in
to the men to be nominated the Council should consider them at a study meeting after
meeting them individually. Councilman Granger explained that Mr. Cooney did not
seek a position on the Board and he felt that after the discussion Mr. Cooney would
prefer that his name be dropped, although.he had been willing to help serve on this
Board. It was finally decided that names should be submitted by Council members
to Administrative Assistant Miller and he in turn, would notify persons nominated
and the Council members for interviews.
ORDINANCE No. 605. (3) If permitted,
fire control could be installed. Councilmen Morgan suggested that a committee be
.appointed to meet with the Fire Chief and other officials who might be interested.
Mayor herder appointed a committee consisting of Councilmen Swift, Chairman, Coun-
cilman Britschgi, Fire Chief Lodi and City Attorney Currie to study this matter.
COUNCILMAN HOLMQUIST STATED THAT SEVERAL MONTHS AGO he had questioned heavy trucks
traversing City streets.
