WERDER <br />Mayor of the City of Redwood City <br />I, <br />CITY ATTORNEY CURRIE ASKED FOR AUTHORIZATION TO POST LOWI4 PROPERTY ON BROADWAY (3Store <br />Buildings). The agreement was that these buildings would be razed by January 2nd, <br />and building should be posted. Councilman Spillers moved that buildings be posted, <br />owner and tenants notified, seconded by Councilman Holmquist, and carried. <br />ABATEMENT WAR SURPLUS BUILDING, owned by City. Action taken at this meeting would give 71 <br />y -1 <br />the tenant more than 30 days notice. Councilman Holmquist moved that City Attorney <br />Currie be instructed to serve papers at this time, seconded by Councilman Granger, <br />and carried. <br />COUNCILMAN MORGAN STATED CONTINUED CRITICISM CAME TO HIM ON THE TRAFFIC SITUATION <br />AROUND THE DEPOT BETWEEN 5:00 and 6:30 P.M. He thought the committee on traffic had <br />had time to work out something but no report had been made on this, and moved that <br />some definite report be brought in by the next Council meeting, seconded by Council- <br />man Granger, and carried. <br />COUNCILMAN GRANGER STATED THAT A FENCE SHOULD BE BUILT ON THE BLIND STREET NEXT TO THE <br />GARDNER BUILDING FACING THE CREEK OPPOSITE THE LOWN PROPERTY OIJ BROADWAY. The police <br />barricade was there at present. Councilman Britschgi thought this should be used <br />i <br />for parking. City Manager Rolison reported that this had been investigated and the <br />planking was unsafe. Mr. Rolison was to investigate further and report back. <br />COUNCILMAN GRANGER MOVED THAT CITY CLERK DODGE ADDRESS A LETTER TO THE PAINTER'S UNION <br />i+ <br />thanking them for the fine job and for donating their time to paint one of the City <br />buildings, seconded by Councilman Holmquist, and carried. Y� <br />COUNCILMAN GRANGER INQUIRED ABOUT THE $50 per month paid to Hahn & Campbell for traffic <br />1 <br />counselling. City Manager Rolison explained that the Council approved this expen- <br />diture in connection with Traffic Commission. Mayor Werder wished to know if we <br />were getting somewhere on traffic problems. Mr. Rolison thought the sevice rendered <br />r <br />was worth what the City was paying and invited the members of the Council to attend y <br />any of the meetings held every Friday morning for two or three hours; advisors had <br />contact with Berkeley and other Cities and knew what others were doing on traffic <br />
