0 <br />IJ <br />General Laws, Act No.5162), proceedings for the annexation to the City of Redwood 89 <br />City of the territory hereinafter particularly described have been initiated by the <br />filing of a petition for annexation to the City of Redwood City of the Territory <br />hereinafter described by A. G. FRANK, BETSY FRANK, ARCHIE KLANG and ELEANOR KLANG, <br />the owners of property in said territory proposed to be annexed. <br />AND, WHEREAS, the exterior boundaries of said territory described in said peti- <br />tion and which territory is contiguous to the limits of the 'City of Redwood City, <br />County of San Mateo, State of California, are described as follows, to -wit: <br />BEGINNING at the most northeasterly corner of Lot 1 as said lot is <br />shown on that certain map entitled "Tract No. 523, Subdivision of <br />Portion of the Horgan Ranch, San Mateo County, California", recorded <br />March 17, 1940, in Book 23 of Maps at Page 40, records of San Mateo <br />County, California; thence from said point of beginning S 90 55' W <br />577.91 feet along the easterly line of said subdivision of Horgan <br />Ranch to the most southeasterly corner of Lot 5 in said subdivision; <br />thence N 50o 05' W 200.00 feet along the southerly 'line of said Lot <br />5 to the easterly line of State Highway Route 107 being 66.00 feet in <br />width and commonly known as Woodside Road, said easterly line of <br />Woodside Road being also the existing boundary line of Redwood City; <br />thence N 90 55' E 939.37 feet along the said easterly line of Wood- <br />side Road and said boundary line of Redwood City to the most north- <br />westerly corner of said'Lot 1; thence S 630 00' E 209.23 feet along <br />the northerly line of said Lot 1, said northerly line being the <br />southerly boundary line of Redwood City, to the point of beginning. <br />AND, WHEREAS, the aforesaid petition for annexation of the territory herein- <br />before described, to the City of Redwood City, a municipal corporation, has been <br />filed with and received by'the City Council of the City of Redwood City; <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT, AND IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED that the City Council of the <br />City of Redwood City does by this resolution give notice of such proposed annexation <br />does hereby designate said territor as the "Frank Property", and does further fix <br />Monday, the 17th day of January, 19+9, at the hour of 5:00 o'clock P. M. at the <br />Council Chamber sin the City Hall, Middlefield'Road and Jefferson Avenue, Redwood <br />City, California, as the day, hour and place when and where any person owning real <br />property within such territory so proposed to be annexed and having any objection <br />to the proposed annexation may appear before the City Council and show cause why <br />such territory should not be so annexed; <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED by said 'City Council that the City Clerk of Redwood City <br />be, and he is hereby directed to cause a copy of this resolution to be published.at <br />least once a week for two successive weeks prior to the day fixed for hearing,, in <br />the Redwood City Tribune, a newspaper printed, published and circulated in the City <br />of Redwood City, the municipal corporation to which it is proposed to annex the <br />hereinbefore described territory. <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that at any time not later than the hour set for hearing <br />objections to the proposed annexation, any owner of property within the territory <br />proposed to be annexed may file written protest against the proposed annexation, <br />such protests shall state the name or names of the owner or owners of the property <br />affected thereby, and the description and area of such property in general terms. <br />Passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Redwood City at a regular <br />meeting thereof held on the 20th day of December, 1945, by the following vote: <br />AYES, and in favor of the passage and adoption of the foregoing resolution: <br />Councilmen: BRITSCHGI, GRANGER, HOLMQUIST, MORGAN, SWIFT, and Mayor WERDER. <br />NOES, <br />ABSENT, <br />ATTEST: <br />Councilmen: NONE <br />Councilmen: NONE <br />RALPH S. BECK regarding lots described as the <br />Northerly 1/2 of Lots 94, Grey Tract which they had purchased at a tax sale for <br />$175. They were advised at the time by former City Collector that it was not neces- <br />sary to have the title searched as the property was clear at that time, but it later <br />developed that a pro -rata settlement with the County had not been made by the former <br />
