90 <br />City Collector and the County was holding delinquent taxes against this lot which <br />clouded the title. Motion of Councilman Britschgi, seconded by Councilman Holmquist, <br />City Collector Pdrrin was directed to straighten the matter out for said claim of <br />County 'Pax Collector. Motion carried. <br />MAP OF SILVER MANOR SUBDIVISION FINAL APPROVAL. City Engineer Jain submitted a final <br />map recommending that same be approved subject to certain minor changes to be <br />made by his department. Final approval was authorized on motion of Councilman <br />Granger, seconded by Councilman Swift, subject to the City Manager's map correc- <br />tions it being understood that ornamental street lights would be waived in this <br />subdivision: On motion of Councilman Granger, seconded by Councilman Swift, <br />authority was granted to expend the necessary funds to match the grade of the new <br />paving on Valota Road with the existing paving. Motion carried. <br />TRAFFIC SIGNALS ON EL CAMINO REAL FROM WHIPPLE AVENUE TO WOODSIDE ROAD. City Engineer <br />Jain stated that plans were under way to make these installations, it being contem- <br />plated to install pedestrian safety zones at Broadway. He stated further that an <br />attempt was being made to secure storage lanes at this point which would allow for <br />left hand turns. The construction of the storage lane would eliminate parking for <br />some distance on all four corners. This matter will be placed on the agenda for <br />further discussion. <br />CITY MANAGER ROLISON SUBMITTED AN INVENTORY OF EQUIPMENT WHICH WOULD BE HOUSED IN THE <br />PROPOSED BUILDING to be constructed for the Parks Department equipment in the <br />Community Park Area. He was of the opinion that this building was necessary to <br />house this equipment which is of considerable value and is further of the opinion <br />that the location suggested was a good place to'construct the building. Council- <br />man Swift moved, seconded by Councilman Granger, that the entire cost of the build- <br />ing estimated at $6000 be charged against Bond Fund money. Under the question <br />Councilman Britschgi stated he would vote against this motion as he did not think <br />the money was being wisely spent. He suggested the possibility of building <br />bleachers under which park equipment could be stored. Councilman Swift withdrew <br />his motion with the consent of the second. City Manager Rolison was to study <br />the matter further and report back at the meeting of January 3rd. Councilmen <br />Spillers and Britschgi were to confer with Mr. Rolison on this matter also. <br />CITY ATTORNEY CURRIE PRESENTED A RESOLUTION FOR CONSIDERATION which would authorize an <br />application to the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo for cancel- <br />lation of taxes on City owned Robinson property. Councilman Morgan offfered reso- <br />lution and moved adoption, seconded by Councilman Swift. Motion carried on roll <br />call. Councilman Spillers noted absent. <br />RESOL UT ION No. 649 <br />AUTHORIZING APPLICATION TO BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF SAN MATEO <br />FOR CANCELLATION OF TAXES ON CITY -OWNED PROPERTY. <br />RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Redwood City that a petition for the <br />cancellation of taxes on the property hereinafter described be filed with the <br />Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, and that the City Manager be, <br />and he is, hereby authorized and directed to sign such a petition on behalf of the <br />City and to 'take such action as may be necessary to have the same favorably acted <br />upon by said Board of Supervisors. The property to be included in this petition, <br />all of which has been acquired by the City for public use, is described as follows: <br />Easterly portion of Lot A containing <br />0.42 acres, J. B. Perry's Subdivision of Villa Lots. <br />Passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Redwood City at a regular <br />meeting thereof held on the 20th day of December, 1948, by the following vote: <br />d� <br />0 <br />
