96 <br />WHEREAS'said Council did proceed on the 3rd day -of January, 1949, with said <br />hearing, and after considering all objections made and received does determine that <br />due.and,legal notice of said hearing was given as required by the ordinances of the <br />City of Redwood City, as appears from the affidavit of L. M. Duncan on file in the <br />office of the City Clerk; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT'RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Redwood City, and <br />said Council does hereby declare, that the buildings or structures situated upon <br />the real property hereinabove described are a public nuisance, and does hereby <br />direct the owners thereof to abate said nuisance within thirty (30) days from the <br />adoption of this resolution, by having said buildings razed or removed, and if said <br />buildings are not so abated by said owners, the Building Inspector of the City of <br />Redwood City is hereby ordered and directed to raze or remove said buildings, and <br />that the expenses thereof be made a lien on the lot or parcel of land from which <br />said buildings or structures are removed and which is hereinabove described. <br />. Mr. Hubbard appeared for Mrs. <br />Williamson, proprietor of Cookies Cafe, stating that arrangements had been made <br />to move by the lst of February to Main Street. City Attorney Currie stated the <br />owners had agreed to tear down the building and that no action was needed at this <br />time on the part of the Council. <br />ABATEMENT, OLD POOLE BUILDINGS, Jefferson Avenue, barn in rear and sheds in rear of <br />Sequola.Hotel. City Attorney Currie stated these had been discussed and carried <br />on the agenda but had never been posted,.but tied in with this area including <br />Poole property. It was moved by Councilman Granger that buildings be posted, <br />seconded by Councilman Morgan, and carried. <br />ABATE14ENT MANLEY PROPERTY, 509 Allerton Street. This was posted on November 18th and <br />duly and regularly continued until this time. Building Inspector Duncan swore to <br />the following testimony, on the condition of 12 x 20 out building: <br />(1) Board and batten building located about 6 inches from side property <br />line of Anderson's Apartment House. (2) Building had no foundation and floor <br />joists on ground. (3) Wiring in very dangerous condition. (4) No toilet <br />facilities to accomodate family that was living there. (5) Building was unsightly <br />and a fire hazard and it was his recommendation that building be razed. <br />Councilman Morgan offered resolution and moved adoption that this building`was a <br />public nuisance and should be abated, seconded by Councilman Swift. Motion carried <br />on roll call. Councilman Britschgi and Spillers noted absent. <br />RESOLUTION No. 652 <br />DECLARING PREMISES AT 509 ALLERTON STREET A NUISANCE AND ORDERING ABATEMENT <br />WITHIN THIRTY DAYS <br />WHEREAS L. M.
