(1) Building was la x 22 board andbatten building with galls out of <br />plumb and floor out of level. (2) Building had no'foundation, joists were <br />resting on ground floor about six inches above ground. (3) Wiring was in <br />dangerous condition. (4) Plumbing was illegal.. (5) Out building was on <br />street property line. (6) Building was not fit for human habitation, was <br />unsightly, and it was the recommendation of the Building Inspector's Depart- <br />ment that the building be razed. <br />Councilman Morgan offered resolution and moved adoption, seconded by Councilman <br />Holmquist, and carried on roll call. Motion carried, Councilmen Britschgi and <br />Spillers noted absent. <br />RE SO LUT ION No. 653 <br />DECLARING PREMISES AT .344 FULLER STREET A NUISANCE`AND ORDERING ABATEMENT <br />WITHIN THIRTY DAYS <br />WHEREAS L. M. DUNCAN, the Building Inspector of the City of Redwood City, <br />did, as required by Ordinance No. 303, post a notice to abate nuisalce upon the <br />real property situated in said City, County of San Mateo, State of California, <br />and particularly described as follows: <br />Lot 6, Block 5, Range 0, Mezesville; <br />and did send a copy of said notice so posted, by registered mail, postage prepaid, <br />to the owner of said real property, as said owner is listed upon the books of the <br />City Assessor of said City of Redwood City, to wit: "G. B. Solari, 260 Topaz <br />Street, Redwood City, California"; and <br />j WHEREAS, in and by said notice to abate nuisance, said Building Inspector •. <br />of the City of Redwood City did fix Monday, December 6, 1948, at -the hour of <br />8:00 o'clock P.M. of said day at the Council Chamber in the City Hall on Middle- <br />field Road in said City of Redwood City, as the time and place when the owner of <br />the buildings situated upon said real property could appear and be heard and show <br />cause why said buildings should not be condemned as a public nuisance and abated <br />by reconstructing or properly repairing said buildings or by razing or removing <br />the same; and <br />WHEREAS, said Council did regularly continue said hearing until the 3rd day of <br />January, 1949, at 8:00 o'clock P. M.; and <br />WHEREAS, said Council did proceed on the 3rd day of January, 1949, with said <br />hearing, and after considering all objections made and received, does determine <br />that due and legal notice of said hearing was given as required by the ordinances <br />of the City of Redwood City, as appears from the affidavit of L. M. DUNCAN on file <br />in the office of the City Clerk; <br />NOW, THEREFORE ;"'BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Redwood City, <br />and said Council does hereby declare, that the building (approximately 18' by 241) <br />situated on the rear portion of said real property hereinabove described is a <br />I public nuisance, and does hereby direct the owner thereof to abate said nuisance <br />d within thirty (30) days from the adoption of this resolution, by having said <br />building razed or removed, and if said building is not so abated by said owner, <br />the Building Inspector of the City of Redwood City is hereby ordered and directed <br />to raze or remove said building, and that the expenses thereof be made a lien on <br />the lot or parcel of land from which said building or structure is removed and <br />which is hereinabove described. <br />Passed and adopted by the Council of the City of Redwood City at a regular <br />meeting thereof held on the 3rd day of January, 1949, by the following vote: <br />k <br />AYES, and in favor of the passage and adoption of the foregoing resolution: <br />Councilmen: GRANGER, HOLMQUIST, MORGAN, SWIFT, and Mayor WERDER. <br />NOES, Councilmen: NONE <br />ABSENT, Councilmen: BRITSCHGI and SPILLERS <br />W.
