MANAGDR RECOI�I�NDATION VACATE llV�`ELLING ADJACENT TO PARK DEPARTMENT, UTILITY BUILDING <br />a CITY <br />TO BE USED FOR STORAGE TOOLS & EQUIPMENT. A recent purchase was made by the City <br />located on Lots 23 & 240 Block 42, Central Park No 2 Addition. <br />of a small dwellin P , <br />1 <br />I�i The Park & Building Superintendent advised if available this building could be used <br />for storage of tools and equipment including janitorial supplies which at present <br />P <br />,,F time were not under cover. It was City Manager's recommendation that City Attorney <br />I Ibe instructed to prepare appropriate proceedings calling for vacation of premises by # <br />tenant. When this had been accomplished it was the intention of the Park Department <br />to improve grounds and make such other minor improvements as would present a more <br />sightly appearance. Councilman Spillers moved acceptance of City Managerls recom- <br />mendation, seconded by Councilman Royer and carried. <br />B ASSENZA, 732 MENLO AVENLE, MENLO PARK, REQUESTED EASEMENT FOR UTILITIES TO NEVBUILDIATG <br />ON BROADWAY, NOVI UNDER CONSTRUCTION ON PORTIONS OF LOTS 62 & 63, 2041 BROADWAY. <br />After discussion Councilman Spillers moved that he be given a revocable permit, <br />seconded by Councilman Royer and carried. SIDEWALKS HAD BEEN BROKEN UP BY TRUCKS <br />and it was moved by Councilman Granger, seconded by Councilman Spillers, that the <br />° Sidewalk Ordinance`,be complied with in this particular case and Mr. Assenza be noti- <br />I fied to replace walk. Idotion carried. <br />CHESTNUT STREET IMPROVEMENTS ON CHESTNUT STREET BETWEEN MAIN STREET AND HELIER STREET. <br />City Engineer, submitted letter stating plans and specifications were prepared on <br />this project which would be constructed using Gas Tax Funds. Permission was re- <br />quested to advertise for bids in order, to construct improvements before the rainy <br />season. Councilman Granger moved approval of authority to advertise for bids, <br />j' seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried. <br />k <br />SECOND PROGRESS ESTIIatATE, HEDAHL-MARTIN CONTRACTORS, SVdIMMING POOL IN THE A110U10 OF <br />c $24,164.10 was presented by City Engineer with his approval for payment. Council- <br />man Spillers moved that authority be granted for payment, seconded by Councilman <br />Royer and carried. <br />} BIDS ON BUS BENCHES. Proposal submitted by Mr. Richard D. Hennessy, and Mr. H. H. Claus, <br />r Peninsual Seat Advertising Company were opened. It was suggested these be turned <br />'i over to Mr. Currie to check. Ordinance had been prepared fixing the price of $1.00 <br />previously. Councilman Spillers moved the contract be awarded to Nfr. Claus, but <br />i <br />was lost for want of a second It was decided this should be carried on the agenda <br />for a committee to study. Mayor Britschgi appointed Councilman Herkner and Spillers <br />to act on this committee and meet with the City Manager. Councilman Granger moved <br />Ik this committee be dismissed, seconded by Councilman Royer and carried. <br />CITY ATTORNEY CURRIE THOUGHT THE CITY CLERK SHOULD ACCEPT DEED OF DOUGLAS & WOODHOUSE RE <br />1. HOUAND, STANDISH & WINSL,:Vr STREET EXTENSIONS after the approval of City Engineer. <br />CALIFORNIA SQUARE, ACQUISITION OF SITE FOR COURTHOUSE. City Attorney stated the Planning <br />Commission met Friday August -4th and recommended steps be taken to use this property <br />as a site for the Courthouse. <br />I RESOLUTION 936 AUTHORIZING CITY ATTORNEY TO TAKE NECESSARY LEGAL STEPS TO ACQUIRE .TITLE <br />i' <br />TO THP, CALIFORNIA SQUARE; PROP-" TY was offered and moved for adoption by Councilman <br />r Herkner,seconded by Councilman Granger.
