A recent purchase was made by the City located on Lots 23 & 240 Block 42, Central Park No 2 Addition. of a small dwellin P , 1 I�i The Park & Building Superintendent advised if available this building could be used for storage of tools and equipment including janitorial supplies which at present P ,,F time were not under cover. It was City Manager's recommendation that City Attorney I Ibe instructed to prepare appropriate proceedings calling for vacation of premises by # tenant. When this had been accomplished it was the intention of the Park Department to improve grounds and make such other minor improvements as would present a more sightly appearance. Councilman Spillers moved acceptance of City Managerls recom- mendation, seconded by Councilman Royer and carried. B ASSENZA, 732 MENLO AVENLE, MENLO PARK, REQUESTED EASEMENT FOR UTILITIES TO NEVBUILDIATG ON BROADWAY, NOVI UNDER CONSTRUCTION ON PORTIONS OF LOTS 62 & 63, 2041 BROADWAY. After discussion Councilman Spillers moved that he be given a revocable permit, seconded by Councilman Royer and carried. SIDEWALKS HAD BEEN BROKEN UP BY TRUCKS and it was moved by Councilman Granger, seconded by Councilman Spillers, that the ° Sidewalk Ordinance`,be complied with in this particular case and Mr. Assenza be noti- I fied to replace walk. Idotion carried. CHESTNUT STREET IMPROVEMENTS ON CHESTNUT STREET BETWEEN MAIN STREET AND HELIER STREET. City Engineer, submitted letter stating plans and specifications were prepared on this project which would be constructed using Gas Tax Funds. Permission was re- quested to advertise for bids in order, to construct improvements before the rainy season. Councilman Granger moved approval of authority to advertise for bids, j' seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried. k SECOND PROGRESS ESTIIatATE, HEDAHL-MARTIN CONTRACTORS, SVdIMMING POOL IN THE A110U10 OF c $24,164.10 was presented by City Engineer with his approval for payment. Council- man Spillers moved that authority be granted for payment, seconded by Councilman Royer and carried. } BIDS ON BUS BENCHES. Proposal submitted by Mr. Richard D. Hennessy, and Mr. H. H. Claus, r Peninsual Seat Advertising Company were opened. It was suggested these be turned 'i over to Mr. Currie to check. Ordinance had been prepared fixing the price of $1.00 previously. Councilman Spillers moved the contract be awarded to Nfr. Claus, but i was lost for want of a second It was decided this should be carried on the agenda for a committee to study. Mayor Britschgi appointed Councilman Herkner and Spillers to act on this committee and meet with the City Manager. City Attorney stated the Planning Commission met Friday August -4th and recommended steps be taken to use this property as a site for the Courthouse.
