<br />WHEREAS said proposal was submitted to the Planning Commission of Redwood Cil, j

<br />WHEREAS said Planning Commission, after holding a public hearing thereon, has
<br />made its report to this Council in v4ich it approves said p:^ oposal and finds that
<br />the highest and best use to which said land can be put is the erection thereon of
<br />a building or buildings to provide court rooms and other facilities for the Superic
<br />Court of the county and for other public offices; and i
<br />WHEREAS the County of San Mateo requires that before erecting the public building
<br />proposed on said land, there be obtained a'judicial determination of the powerof
<br />the city to grant or lease the land to the county for the purposes aforesaid; and
<br />WHEREAS it must first be ascertained whether or not any pers ms have any
<br />rights, titles or interests in or to said California Square which would be taken ?
<br />or damaged by teh appropiation,of said California Square to the public purposes i
<br />above set forth; and
<br />WHEREAS if any persons have any rights, title s or interests in or to Califorali
<br />Square which would oe taken or damaged by the appropriation thereof to the public
<br />uses above set forth, it is necessary that the same be acquired or compensation
<br />paid for any damage thereto; now, therefore, t
<br />BE IT RESOLVED that the City Attorney be requested to institute appropriate k
<br />judicial proceedings for the purpose of securing a judgment binding upon all
<br />persons establishing the purposes to which said -California Square may be put and
<br />particularly the power of the city to lease or grant the same to the county for k
<br />the erection of a building for court house and other public uses and for a ju-
<br />dicial determination of the city,s title thereto and whether any other persons 110
<br />any right, title or interest therein which would be taken or damaged by the appro•
<br />priation of said land to the public purposes above set forth and that if it is
<br />found that any person has any right, title or interest therein that such right,
<br />titb or interest be condemned by proceedings in eminent domain to the public pm'•
<br />poses above set forth.

<br />meeting thereof, held on the 7th day of August, 1950, by the following vote;
