ATTORNEY NORMAN MENIFEE' APPEARED' PRESENTING APPLICATION FOR ABANDONMENT OF'ALLEY IN <br />FIVE POINTS MERCANTILE TRACT'. Mr. Ostertag owned the entire block, 10 lots on EI <br />{. <br />Camino Real and 6 on Woodside Road. The request was for abandonment of alley at <br />rear of Lots 4 to 9 inclusive; part of it would be used for parking area and part of <br />it ! <br />it for construction of a building. The alley had never been used. In the interest <br />of time it was presented to the Council with the thought that at the time it was <br />referred to the Planning Commission they could pass a resolution of intent to abandon <br />as a 15 day notice was required anyway. City Attorney Currie stated the only action <br />to be taken was to be taken by the Council. Mr. Menefee stated that separate plans <br />w, <br />would be submitted for construction of the buildings. Councilman Granger pointed out <br />w <br />q� <br />3q� <br />that if the property was sold there should be proper ingress and egress to the <br />`! <br />property, and that these matters should be brought up at the time of hearing. Coun- <br />cilman Werder offered resolution of intention to vacate alley running off Woodside <br />Road and El Camino Real onto Linden Street at the rear of. Lots 4 to 9 inclusive, <br />r <br />Five Points Mercantile Tracto hearing set for July 3rd, seconded by Councilman Royer <br />and carried on roll call. Councilman Granger wished to be assured that if the alley <br />6. <br />was abandoned that the buildings would be constructed where Mr. Menifee stated they <br />would namely6 <br />on Lots , 7, and 8 and that Lots �. and 5 would be reserved for parking <br />fi <br />! <br />area. Prints would be submitted at a later date. <br />f: <br />RESOLUTION No. 879 <br />RESOLUTION OF INTENTION TO VACATE A. PORTION OF AN ALLEY WAY <br />RUNNING OFF WOODSIDE ROAD BETWEEN EL CAMINO REAL AND LINDEN <br />STREET. <br />G' <br />RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Redwood City, that it hereby declares <br />its intention to vacate and abandon as an alley way, a portion of a certain alley <br />running off Woodside Road between E1 Camino Real and Linden Street in the City of <br />Redwood City, and reference is hereby made to a map on file in the office of the; <br />City Clerk of the City of Redwood City for further particulars as to said proposed <br />a; <br />alley vacation.` <br />The said alley to be vacated is particularly described as follows: <br />BEGINNING at a point 104.07 feet from the point on Woodside Road where <br />the easterly edge of said present alley intersects 'Woodside Road; running <br />thence South 470 56f 30" East 150 feet; thence'South 460 471 40" West 35.80 <br />'! <br />feet; thence South 410511 10" West 50.00 feet; thence North,530.081 40" <br />F° <br />West 33.50 feet; thence North 840 30( West 10.61 feet; thence North 20 141 <br />East 89.84 feet; thence North 470 56t 30" West approximately 50 feet to a <br />point on the westerly -side of the present alley where the prolongation ofI <br />the line dividing Lots 3 and 4 would intersect with said alley; thence at <br />right angles 25 feet North 420 031 30" East to the point of beginning. <br />Being a portion of the same alley which was accepted by the City of Redwood City <br />Jj <br />on January 20, 1941 as shown by the endorsement on Map of Five -Points Commercial <br />P! <br />Tract, filed March 1, 1941 in Book 23 of Maps at Page 38. <br />f� <br />FURTHER RESOLVED that July 3, 1950, at 8 otclock P.M. at the City. Hall in <br />Redwood City is hereby fixed as the time and place when and where all persons inter- <br />ested in or objecting to the proposed vacation of said alley way will be heard. <br />FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution shall be published once in the Redwood <br />i <br />City Tribune.,a daily (except Sunday) newspaper, published, printed and circulated <br />i <br />in the City of Redwood City. <br />FURTHER RESOLVED that notices of the passage of this resolution shall be posted <br />by the Superintendent of Streets of this City conspicuously along said alley way in <br />at least three (3) places at least ten (10) days before said hearing. <br />I, Ralph S.
