Granted on motion of Uouncilman •Spillers, seconded by <br />Councilman Morgan and carried. <br />RR, HOLMQUIST ALSO REQUESTED AN APPROPORIATION OF $15O TOWARD TIE DEDICATIONCEREhIONIES as <br />he thought the City should have a share in this great accomplishment. :Councilman <br />Id <br />Morgan moved transfer of '0150 by resolution, the money to be paid to the Chamber of <br />Commerce to be expended from the advertising fund. Motion seconded by Councilman <br />Granger and .carried. (Resolution 980) <br />NN, HOWARD HALL APPEARED RE VETERANS BUILDING ROOF WHICH was declared to be in very bad con <br />dition. Councilman Spillers moved that the City Manager go ahead with repairs necessary, <br />seconded by ,Councilman Herkner. Councilman Granger stated his belief that bids should <br />be called for requesting one bid for ;rood shingles and an alternate for manufactured <br />shingles. Councilman Spillers withdrew his motion with the consent of the second and <br />moved that bids be called for. Motion seedr_ded by Councilman Herkner, and carried. <br />-11 <br />Mr, Hall requested that meeting be arranged between the Disabled Veterans and the Veterans <br />building Committee re agreement regarding disposition of the bilding. This was <br />agreed upon, Councilman Morgan to a rrange the meeting. <br />s <br />NEFIC FACT FRIDING COr.N4ITTEE recommendation 15 stop signs on Woo<'tside Road was approved, on motion of Council- <br />man Jones, seconded by Councilman Royer and carried. City Attorney will prepare the necessary resolution. <br />ded p: <br />Councilman Granger noted that his suggestion regarding stops at Jefferson, Brewster, Hopkins, etc. had <br />tio:notmet with the Traffic Committeets approval. <br />: <br />dPENING OF BIDS, OAK,REESE AND JOHNSON. A.,ffidavit of publication and posting notice calling for bids <br />ordered filed. Bids opened were as follows: <br />er �, <br />L. C. Smith - $19,744.65 <br />P. Sorensen - $22,285.38 <br />j Ten percent bid bonds were included with both bids. Bids were referred to City Engineer for checking. <br />j PPB110NEAMNG, ALAMEDA DE LAS PULGAS. Affidavits of <br />posting, mailing and publication were ordered filed by <br />the Mayor. City Clerk advised there were no written protests received. miss Reid, property owner <br />appeared to question the method of spreading assessment to cover storm drains. City Engineer explained <br />i <br />the,City was to pay from bond funds the sum of $6000 toward this project. He explained further that <br />d the County will not donate any money toward draining the higher levels adjoining the City limits. Mr - <br />Th, Randall <br />r.T'h,Randall appeared regarding the width of the Alameda. He was advised that a part of the cost would <br />' be paid from gas tax funds. Mr. T. T. Laitinen, of #8 Acacia Lane, also appeared and questioned the <br />right of the City to assess County residents. The arrangement between the County and the City was <br />3geP' carefully explained by the City Attorney. mr.
