26 <br />letter in the City Clerks office releasing claim that had been taken care of. <br />1 <br />Councilman Morgan moved approval of payment if a satisfactory letter is received <br />releasing claim, seconded by Councilman Granger and carried. <br />STOP SIGN SURVEY OF BREVISTER AND HOPKINS REQUESTED BY COUNCILMAN GRANGER. In the <br />Traffic Fact Finding Committee meeting, minutes of March 2nd, it was noted that <br />the Committee would proceed with an investigation of the advisability of installing <br />stop signs on these streets thus creating a high-speed arterial of same. council- <br />man Granger stated he did not ask for a "high -Speed arterial". <br />CITY ATTORNEY REPORT ON CJITHHOLDING $507.65 FROM HEDAHL-MARTIN CO. Letter of March <br />5th was submitted signed by City Manager Rolison, City Engineer Jain, City Attorney <br />and by Mr. Henry B. Martin accepting conditions stated therein. This sum had been <br />retained by the City to cover cost of additional inspection fees from September <br />16th, 1950 to the completion of the contract on the Swim Pool. The Committee had <br />held two meetings alone and one with Mr. Martin and recommended payment to Hedahl. <br />Martin the sum of $300, contractor to accept sum in full payment of any and all <br />claims against the City for work done under the Swim Pool contract, including any <br />work believed by him to be additional or 2xtra. Councilman Royer moved approval of <br />report, seconded by Councilman Herkner and carried. - <br />ORDINANCE AMENDING 02DIIIANCE 546 RELA'12ING TO BUILDING CODE. Affidavit of, publication <br />ordered filed by the Mayor. <br />ORDINANCE 664, AME0ING ORDINANCE 546 RELATING TO BUILDING CODE. This was an emergency <br />ordinance offective immediately upon adoption establishing $50 deposit for repair <br />or replacement of curbs, sidewalks, gutters, etc to be paid prior to issuance of <br />Building Permit. Councilman Spillers moved adoption of ordinance, seconded by <br />Councilman Morgan and carried on roll call. Councilman Jones noted absent. P <br />ORDINANCE RELATING TO CIVIL DEFENSE AND DISASTERS. Affidavit of publication ordered <br />filed by the Mayor. <br />ORDINANCE 665 RELATING TO CIVIL DEFENSE AND DISASTERS. Councilman Granger moved adopt- <br />ion or ordinance, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried on roll call. Council- <br />man Jones noted absent. <br />RESOLUTION 1037 SETTING UP THE FORM, OF THE CIVIL DEFENSE ORGANIZATION ESTABLISHING - <br />DESIGNATION OF OFFICERS AILD EMPLOYEES, in which the City Manager is appointed as <br />Assistant Director and Vice -Chairman, and Cole Stafford as Deputy Director, was <br />offered and moved for adoption by Councilman Spillers, seconded by Councilman Royer <br />and carried on roll call. Councilman Jones noted absent. <br />INTRODUCTION ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE 445 REPEALING SECTIOII 82 RELATIVE TO PAyriiIIiT <br />OF SALARY OF MEN IN ARI':ED SERVICES. Councilman Spillers offered introduction of <br />ordinance, seconded by Councilman Morgan and carried. <br />RESOLUTION 1038 ABANDONING EASEMENT REAR LOTS 1 tBLOC$ .11 : RED7l00VAJIGHLANDS and 18/ BIR PAR(�r - <br />7 � BIRCH <br />AND HOPKINS) for the extension of sequoia I,4edical Building, Councilman Morgan <br />offered resolution and moved adoption, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried <br />on roll call. Councilman Herkner voting No as he saw no difference between this <br />request and the one to abandon alley in Bekins matter. Councilman Jones noted <br />absent. <br />REPORT ON BID OPENING SALE OF LOT 113 BLOCK 10, RANGE E. IvIEZESVILLE. Real Estate <br />Committee recommended minimum price of $600 appraisal of this lot.
