Councilman <br />Spillers moved approval of recommendation, seconded by Councilman Morgan, City <br />Attorney to prepare ordinance. Motion carried. <br />PROGRESS LWBER CO. REQUEST FOR PERMISSION TO CONNECT TO NEW 161, VyATLR LINE FOR <br />SPRINKLER SERVICE. City Manager stated this would set a precedent and all in- <br />dustries in the area would expect the same permission. He also called attention <br />to the fact that this area was served by the California Water Co. On motion of <br />Councilman Spillers, seconded by Councilman Granger, request was denied. Councilman <br />Herkner stated he did not believe request should be turned down arbitrarily as <br />some plan might be worked out profitable to the City. He suggested further that <br />City Manager explain the Council' s feeling in. the matter to Progress Lumber, rather <br />than by letter. Motion carried. <br />BID ON LOTS 1, 2, 3, BL•OOK 1 REESE SUB. Affidavit of publication filed. The only bid <br />received was one from Juan Garcia Kuesada who bid $500 for each lot, total $1500: <br />Certified check for loo in the amount $15O was attached to bid. Resolution author- <br />izing sale of property was offered and moved for adoption by Councilman Spillers, <br />seconded by Councilman Herkner, and City Attorney directed to prepare deed. Motion <br />carried on roll call. <br />BID ON LOT 11, BLOCK 10, RANGE E MEZESVILLE. Donald Wild bid 0500 attaching certified <br />check in amount 050. This amount was within the 9010 of minimum price set by the <br />Real Estate Committee. Bid accepted and Councilman Spillers offered resolution <br />and moved adoption authorizing sale, seconded by Councilman Morgan, City Attorney <br />to prepare deed. Motion carried on roll call. Councilman Jones noted absent. <br />LETTER FROM DEPARTBIENT OF PUBLIC WORKS, STATE OF CALIFORNIA, advising; of addition of <br />63 to the population of the City because of the annexation of Canyon Road area, <br />order filed. <br />TURFING SWIM POOL AREA. City Manager submitted two estimates as follows: <br />1. Install sprinkling system and landscape entire area <br />of approximately 20,000 sq. ft., estimated - ; 360.00 <br />Approximately 1601 x 61 sidewalk, estimated - LOO. 00 <br />X1260.00 <br />2. Install sprinkling system and landscape approximately <br />1501 front of building, 7000 sq. ft. estimated - 230.00 <br />Sidewalk, as above, estimated - 100.0O <br />40.00 <br />Councilman Spiller stated that in his opinion the entire job should be done now <br />to protect the pool, cost to be transferred from Unbudgeted Reserve. After dis- <br />cussion, Councilman Spillers moved to accept Estimate No. 1 and offered resolution, <br />moving adoption, seconded by Councilman I;iorg;an and carried on roll call.
