At the March 19th Council meeting the Council <br />did not approve the Planning Commission recommendation. Mrs. Sylvia Bernstein <br />appeared and stated liability insurance would be carried. They wished to be in a <br />location where there wasrconsiderable traffic. Councilman Spillers moved that <br />permit be granted, seconded by Councilman Morgan. On roll call motion was lost, <br />Councilman Morgan and Spillers voting Yes. The Council members expressed their <br />.interest toward the project and it was explained that the tenants on each side of <br />this vacant store had received 30 days notice to vacate and to permit someone to <br />occupy this place was inviting needless risk, would be inconsistent with previous <br />decision of the Council with request for tenants to vacate. Councilman Jones <br />offered his assistance to help this organization find a suitable building for their <br />rummage sale in order not to jeopardize the position of the City by permitting them <br />to operate in this condemned building.
