Attorney Wilson outlined the <br />steps to be taken at this time and by way of review for those present interested <br />in this project read the Resolution on Modification and Changes. Mr. Wilson brought <br />out that the property owners on Bay Road were more interested in sidewalks only <br />but would have to be assessed for their sha <br />�. <br />.299 <br />only re of drainage. After his recommend- <br />s <br />ations the following motions were adopted. Councilman Spillers'moved'tImt all work <br />proposed to be done on Bay Road and Beech Street between Spring and -Broadway be ab- <br />andoned and assessment be removed, excepting underground drainage facilities, and the <br />pumping plant facilities, seconded by Councilman Herkner. Couticilman'Royer' stated t <br />those in the audience that as much as possible was being deleted, but the drainage' <br />system benefitted all. Attorney Wilson explained that by actions outlined at this t <br />costs of assessments would be learned. Motion carried on roll call. Councilman <br />Morgan noted absent, having left the meeting at 9:35 PM. <br />RESOLUTION 1055-A was offered by Councilman Spillers and moved for adoption overruling <br />protests on Resolution 1031 of Intention, seconded by Councilman Jones'and carried. <br />RESOLUTION 1056• VIAS OFFERED AND MOVED FOR ADOPTION BY COUNCILMAN HERKNER DIRECTING CITY <br />ENGINEER TO MAKE CHANGES AND MODIFICATIONS IN PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS AND ESTIMATE <br />OF COSTS as provided in RESOLUTION 1031 of Intention excepting as to Subd (f) relati <br />to Bay Road and Beech Street between Spring and Broadway, with the authority to <br />make arrangements for outside assistance, seconded by Councilman Jones and carried <br />on roll call Councilman Morgan noted absent. <br />IT VVAS MOVED BY COUNCILMAN SPILLERS, SECONDED BY COUNCILIliAN JONES THAT AN OUTSIDE FIRM, <br />ON RECOMMENDATION OF PROPER AUTHORITIES, be directed,to respread the assessment in <br />conformity with the revised estimate of costs to be made by the City Engineer, al <br />pursuant to RESOLUTION 1031 exclusive of Subd (f) therein relating to Bay Road and <br />Beech Street between Spring and Broadway, and that the rule stated in Resolution <br />1031 be modified to more equitably' spread the cost of acquisition between Redwood <br />Creed and Walnut Street. Motion carried on roll call. Councilman Morgan noted <br />absent. <br />IT VIAS MOVED BY- COUNCILMAN SPILLERS, SECONDED BY COUNCILMAN JONES THAT THE MIDDLE 20' <br />OF PAVEMENT ON BROADWAY FOR 300' OF STREET IN FRONT OF NATIONAL MOTOR BEARING <br />'ian PROPERTY BE DELETED AND REDWOOD HEADER BOARDS BE SUBSTITUTED. This was being <br />done on Alameda, and in subdivisions which established curbs and gutters at their <br />final resting place and as Gas Tax Money came forward the center strips were paved <br />apiece at a time. TIr. Jain explained this would cost three times the amount to put; <br />f in a narrow street or pave one side in the beginning, tear out, and do it over. Attorney <br />W, Black, representing National Motor Bearing Company, thought this could be worked <br />g out and wished to present the matter to Mr. Bulkley and President Johnson. Councilm <br />Herkner moved that the matter be taken up with National Motor Bearing, mutual agree- <br />eir Mont to be presented to the Council, seconded by Councilman Royer and carried. <br />hem <br />
