BLOCK 162 CENTRAL PARK 02. <br />It <br />Theselots were originally X51 in width, and were resubdivided into 2 lots of 3721 <br />each in width. Mr. Rice stated two homes were under construction, one of which had <br />foundation poured and the other foundation forms were being built. Claim of pro- <br />jt, ij iif <br />l, I <br />testants was that the surrounding lots were 501 in width, and the smaller lots de- <br />I <br />preciated the value of their holdings. It was explained to Mr. Rice that the <br />'T <br />Council was attempting to do away with 251 lots, and the action resubdividing was <br />fll <br />an improvement in the situation. Nothing could be done at this time to stop construc- <br />tion inasmuch as builder had obtained building permit and the resubdivision had <br />,', <br />been handled in the usual manner through the Planning Commission and later approved <br />by the Council. Councilman Granger moved, seconded by Councilman <br />Spillers, that steps be taken before future resubdivisions under similar circum- <br />stances be allowed, that surrounding property owners be given an opportunity to <br />purchase adjoining°251 lots. He stated his <br />' <br />I <br />contractor was proceeding with construction of sidewalk lining up with sidewalks <br />1 <br />ifj•II <br />in the block, but that the City Engineers had stopped the job. City Engineer Jain <br />stated the policy was to move sidewalk in to 611 from property line to leave suffi- <br />cient space between sidewalk and curb to plant trees.` Mr. Bursick submitted pic- <br />i <br />�:; <br />tures tures of the area which indicated t a t 7 lots out of 13 had sidewalk in.
