City Clerk was authorized to accept deed on motion of Councilman <br />Ilerkner, seconded by Councilman Spillers,. and carried. <br />DISCUSSION SATURDAY CLOSING CITY HALL. Mayor Britschgi stated his opinion that the matter of Saturday <br />closing should, be considered at this time in view of the .recent closing by the County., Council Morgan <br />moved, seconded by Councilman Jones, that the matter be referred to the City Manager to check and re- <br />port back. Motion carried. <br />MCILIIAf1 IIORGAN COMPLI?,NTED CITY BUILDING DEPARTMENT for the record of building permit receipts as com- <br />pared with the expenditures of the department. <br />DgpgaTE DATING PLANT LIBRARY BUILDING. City Manager stated bid had been received and the. estimate was <br />tentatively set for $2100. Councilman Herkner suggested City Manager bring in a report at the next <br />meeting. Councilman Granger so moved, seconded by Councilman Royer and carried. <br />PROPOSED REALIGNMENT TOPAZ STREET. Councilman Royer moved that no variances be allowed until the property <br />necessary to realign street is secured, also. that Building Inspector note this before issuing permits. <br />Motion seconded by Councilman Herkner, and carried. <br />All YARDS, MIDDLEFIEID ROAD. Councilman Royer requested that a letter be written to the County Planning <br />Commission�in regard to the conditions on Middlefield Road, junk yards and second hand auto yards and <br />wrecking yards. <br />RITIONAL AVEPHIE. Councilman Herkner requested information regarding the present status of the National Avenue <br />and Broadway extension. He stated it was imperative that the work be completed this year. Assistant <br />City Attorney stated it was necessary to advertise for bids on the lease. of National Avenue. Council- <br />man Herkner moved bids be advertised, seconded by Councilman Royer and carried. City Engineer Jain <br />advised no word had been received from the National Motor Bearing or Land Development Co. relative to <br />drainage of the area, also that the five acre piece had been surveyed and leveling and grading could <br />be started at any time. The understanding was that National wanted the street and the necessary action <br />should be started at once. <br />r COUNCIL'ZN GRANGER AND SPILLERS LEFT THE MEETING. <br />' C'M�11CILIIAN HERKNER SUGGESTED APPOINTMENT OF A CITIZENS COMMITTEE TO STUDY CREEK CONDITIONS AND RENDER A <br />REPORT AND RECOr.2NDATION vrithin 2 months. Councilman Herkner moved that the matter be taken up at a <br />study meeting within two weeks. Motion seconded by Councilman Royer and carried. <br />ptiT(IIJC MTERS EL CAMINO REAL.
