Smith, subject to the conditions and that proper agreement be worked out with National Motor Bearing and the County, seconded by Councilman Royer, Attorney Black stated a letter was to have been delivered to the City today agreeing to the conditions, but it had not been 'received. Councilman Herkner thought a definite understanding should be had with, Mr. Smith to speed up this job. Attorney Currie assured him something could be done and it was included in the motioh'.' Motion carried. REPORT ON BID OPENING - FIRE HpSE'; . Low bidder was L. N. Curtis with a total of $1524.40 with delivery from the East Coast in 60 to 90 days. Second low was Western Fire Equipment - $1554.48 with 30 days delivery. This hose was made by the Pioneer Rubber Company located in Pittsburg, California. Deliv- ery date is an important factor and was sorely needed at the two large fires recently. It was the desire of the fire department to place the hose in service as soon as possible and' therefore recom- mended -'that the bid of Western Fire Ewuipment be accepted. City Manager concurred with the Fire Chief in recommendation. Councilman Herkner moved approval of recommendation, seconded by Councilman Jones and carried. REPORT ON BID OPENING - POWER MOWER. Berg Co. be accepted for a Locke Wing Mower. Since the Carter Company offered $200 for the. two mov rs to be traded in, and stated that they desired to purchase these whether or not they received an order for new equipment, it was recommended that the used mowprs.be sold to the Carter Co. Chas. Berg Company expressed their willingness to sell the new mower without the trade-in. Bid of $920 less $200 would be a net cost to city of $720 for the new mower.
