ROBERT BESHORE REPRESENTING WESTWOOD TERRACE IMPROVEMENT CLUB spoke regarding small section of road connecting Roosevelt Avenue with Westwood Terrace unpaved. City Engineer Jain advised that Douglass & Woodhouse held the contract and that he was under the impression that the work had started. Councilman Granger moved that the proper authorities contact the Contractors in an effort to speed up the work before the rains set in. Motion was seconded by Councilman Spillers, and carried. MR. JACK SHARP, REDWOOD CITY LIONS CLUB appeared to request permission to conduct turkey shoots during November and December, proceeds to go toward furnishing Christmas baskets to needy families. No ordinance could be found prohibiting shooting of firearms in the City limits. After discussion relative to traffic control, permis- sion from the State Highway to open entrance off Bayshore to the Rodeo Grounds, etc., Councilman Royer moved, seconded by Councilman Spillers, that permit be granted. Motion carried. MR. CHAS. HOWARD thanked the Council for expediting the Canyon Road sewer job. He -hoped the work could be finished before the winter rains. MR. LESTER KATX, HESS ROAD. Mr. Katz complained of dogs creating nuisance. He was in- formed that it -would be necessary for him to file a complaint against the owner, and tentatively agreed to secure the necessary paper from City Attorney Currie the following Saturday morning. MR. CARL WOOD APPEARED REGARDING DENIAL OF REQUEST TO RESUBDIVIDE. Mr. Wood stated the Planning Commission had demanded easement for extension of Poplar Avenue as,a con- dition to resubdivision. This was not agreeable to Mr. Wood. Inasmuch as nothing had been received from the Planning Commission, Councilman Morgan moved the matter be held up awaiting the necessary letter, seconded by Councilman Jones and carried. PUBLIC HEARING - OFFICIAL PLAN LINES SPRUCE STREET BETWEEN EL CAMINO REAL AND BAY ROAD - Affidavit of publication ordered filed. There were no protests written or oral, and hearing was declared closed. RESOLUTION No. 1157 ADOPTING OFFICIAL PLAN LINES ON SPRUCE STREET. Councilman Herkner offered resolution and moved adoption, seconded by Councilman Spillers, and carried on roll call. COUNCILMAN GRANGER COMMENTED ON THE NUMBER OF EASEMENTS, RIGHTS-OF-WAY, OPTIONS, ETC. which were pending calling particular attention that the Whipple Avenue widening and straightening and for which eventually money would be required. He suggested that a survey be taken of this situation. INTRODUCTION AMENDMENT TO SALARY ORDINANCE establishing rates for Recreation Department part time employees.
