Councilman Spillers suggested matter be carried on the agenda for further study and the possibility iof Nr. Laurie receiving; refund of taxes paid on this lot which eventually did not belong i ` to him.. After further, discussion the question was put to a vote which carried, Council- man Spillers voting No, and City Clerk was directed to prepare the necessary advertisement. 1 4 .EDUCTION ORDINANCE NO PARKING VARIOUS BICYCLE RACK LOCATIONS. Affidavit of publication was ordered filed and public hearing was announced by the Mayor. Mr. Vernon I. Roberts, 1631 Union Avenue, represent- ing property owners in the area spoke on the sub jack calling attention to the fact that this area consisted of half acre and acre plots and that for many years residents had been allowed to keep chickens in larger quantities than that specified in the new area. 1 He asked that that area around Woodside Acres be allowed to continue on as they had in the past. Councilman Granger stated that when this area was annexed to the City several Years ago there was an understanding that these people would be allowed to continue the chicken program but that it was understood that no further commercial permits would be allowed in this area. He suggested the possibility of amending the present ordinance to r take care of this situation. Mr. Kersten, Mr. Lee Abernathy and Mr. Lawrence, properly osmers in this area also spoke in regard to this matter and after further discussion Councilman Herkner suggested that the Chicken Ordinance Committee be reactivated or a new committee be appointed to go into this matter at greater length. Councilman Granger moved that the Mayor appoint a committee to meey with representatives of the area and Royer and Work out a satisfactory solution of this problem, seconded by Councilman P he area to represent the pro - carried.
