<br />011 ROLL CALL the following were present: Councilmen: Floyd D. Granger, Sidney D. Herkner,
<br />Paul. Jones, Albert H. Morgan, Jr., Wm H. Royer, Robt V. Spillers, Mayor Carl A.
<br />Britschgi, and City Clerk Ralph S. Dodge. Also present were: Cit;' Manager E. A.
<br />Rolison, City Attorney Co B. Currie, Water Superintendent H. L. Winter, Building
<br />Inspector Stephen Kreiss, Administrative Assistant Richard D. Miller, Assistant
<br />Engineer M. Carozza.
<br />MAYOR BRITSCHGI EXPLAINED THE PURPOSE OF THE MEETING WAS TO ADOPT A RESOLUTION requesting
<br />County of'San Mateo to authorize payment of an assessment in the Broadway and Marshall
<br />proposed assessment district. Councilman Granger offered a resolution and moved its
<br />adoption, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried on roll call.

<br />RERUESTING APPROPRIATION FROM COUNTY OF SAN MATEO
<br />BROADWAY - MARSHALL STREET AND VICINITY IMPROVEMENT
<br />DISTRICT.
<br />RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Redwood City, California, that
<br />WHEREAS, this Council is undertaking proceedings for the opening and widening
<br />of Marshall Street, a portion of which was formerly known as Liguori Street, between
<br />Redwood 'Creek and Chestnut Street, and the construction of a bridge across Redwood
<br />Creek, in said City, pursuant to Article II -A, Ordinance 333 of said City entitled
<br />"Redwood Cit Improvement Procedure 'Code", as amended, (Municipal Improvement Act
<br />of 1913 type, and proposes to issue bonds upon the unpaid assessments thereof pur-
<br />suant to Article I of said Improvement Procedure Code, as amended;
<br />WHEREAS, said facilities will provide traffic circulation to the properties of
<br />the County of San Mateo, to -wit, the Courthouse site, California Square, and Lots
<br />4, 5, 6, and 7, Block 2, as shown on the map of the Town of Mazesville, and the
<br />ratable share of the costs and expenses of said acquisitions and improvements which
<br />said properties would bear if they were assessable on the same basis as all other
<br />properties within the assessment district are assessed, would be as follows:

<br />WHEREAS, in the opinion of this Council the public interest and general welfare
<br />of said County will be benefited by said improvements, and it is to the economic
<br />advantage of said County that it contribute its share of said costs and expenses of
<br />said acquisitions and improvements; and
<br />WHEREAS, it is necessary that this Council know the amount which the County will
<br />appropriate toward the costs and expenses of said acquisitions and improvements
<br />before it will know the amount assessable upon the remaining properties benefited;
<br />NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED, as follows:
<br />1. That request be, and it is hereby made of the Board of Supervisors of the
<br />County of San Mateo that it authorize thepayment of an assessment on said 'County
<br />properties in the total amount of 15,798. 98, being figured in the same manner and
<br />in the same ratio as all other properties within said assessment district will be
<br />assessed in said assessment proceedings, as said properties ratable share of the
<br />actual costs and expenses of said acquisitions and improvements;
<br />2. That if the actual costs and expenses of said acquisitions and improvements
<br />shall be less than theresent estimated amount thereof, to -wit, 5169222.10, that
<br />said proposed assessment on County property will be reduced in the same ratio as all
<br />other properties within said district are reduced;
<br />'3• That if the actual costs and expenses of said acquisitions and improvements
<br />shall be in excess of that now estimated that said assessments on said County prop-
<br />erties will be increased in the same ratio as all other properties benefited are
<br />increased;
<br />4• That said assessment be paid in cash by the.•County following the confirmation
<br />of said assessment.
