Chairman of the Swimming Pool Committee submitted the following after the committee <br />approved Recreation Department recommendation. <br />Local residents, 18 years and under 1 <br />Local residents, adults •35 <br />Local residents, 18 years and under 10 <br />swims for 1.00 <br />Local residents, adults 10 swims for 3.00 <br />Non-residents 18 years and under .30 <br />Non-residents, adults .70 <br />Councilman Morgan moved approval of committee's recommendation, seconded by Councilman <br />Jones. The rates were similar to other pools. Motion carried. <br />REAL ESTATE COMMITTEE REPORT ON REQUEST TO LIFT RENT CONTROL. Councilman Spillers stated <br />there had not been enough time to meet on this and asked that it be carried on the <br />agenda for 30 days, to give the committee time to work on it. <br />BUS BENCH COMMITTEE REPORT. Councilman Granger stated the committee recomended that bids <br />be called for as two individuals were interested in this contract and it was thought <br />this method would be to the best interest of the City. Councilman Morgan moved that <br />the proper authorities take necessary steps to have the two interested submit bids, <br />seconded by Councilman Jones. City Attorney Currie advised it was not necessary to <br />advertise for bids in this instance. Motion carried. <br />REAL ESTATE COMMITTEE REPORT. Acquisition of two lots to extend Oliver Street to Oak <br />Street. Councilman Spillers reported the committe thought $4500 for the house and lot <br />was too great a price and ,the committee did not know whether or not it was feasible <br />to extend this street to Oak and thought it should be referred to the City Engineer <br />for opinion on whether or not the street should be extended. Councilman Morgan moved <br />this be referred to City Engineer Jain and the Planning Commission with all facts per- <br />taining to the suggested acquisition of this property, seconded by Councilman Granger <br />and carried. <br />REAL ESTATE COMMITTEE REPORT REGARDING MATER SERVICE TO HOMES UNDER CONSTRUCTION, EMERALD <br />LAKE. City Manager Rolison reported that Water Superintendent Winter had prepared a <br />list of homes under construction as requested. This list was on file in the City <br />lAanager's office and showed nine homes under construction for which service had been <br />requested and seven for which no applications for; service had been filed. Mrs. Frances <br />Hopkins explained in a communication and also in person, that she had applied for <br />service approximately one year ago and that she had been granted permission to connect <br />onto a line owned by a Mr. Hugo. Water Superintendent Winter confirmed the fact that <br />Mrs. Hopkins had been promised .service. <br />After discussion, Councilman Royer moved that service be allowed to the 16 homes under <br />construction, that meters be installed at property line where water was available or <br />at the main, property owners to run service line at their own espense, and that Mrs. <br />Frances Hopkins be granted service providing she secured permission of the owner of <br />the private service line. Councilman Jones seconded the motion which carried, Coun- <br />cilman Spillers voting No. <br />all 'Council confirmed the understanding that services in the Emerald Lake Area be <br />restricted to the following: Services to be granted <br />A. To the 16 homes under construction and covered by list in City Manager's <br />Office, <br />Be To all prior commitments of record on Water Superintendent's records. <br />C• To all locations where evidence exists of previous services. <br />100th ANNIVERSARY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA.
