10 <br />authorized execution was approved subject to confirmation of the above figures. <br />Motion carried. <br />INTRODUCTION OF ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING 15DIINUTE PARKING ZONE in front of Social Welfare <br />Building at 619 Bradford Street, and in front of School Department Building on the <br />west side of Jefferson Avenue, north of Bradford Street. The Ordinance was introduced <br />on motion of Councilman Spillers, seconded by Councilwoman Tinney, and carried. <br />ADOPTION OF ORDINANCE No. 699 ESTABLISHING LOADING AND NO PARKING'ZONE ON PORTIONS OF <br />WALNUT STREET. Affidavit of Publication was ordered filed by Mayor Granger. Coun- <br />oilman Britschgi moved its adoption, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried on <br />roll call. <br />ADOPTION OF ORDINANCE No. 700 AMENDING ORDINANCE No. 687 RELATING TO PARKING REGULATIONS <br />ON PORTIONS OF JEFFERSON AVENUE. Affidavit of publication ordered filed by Mayor <br />Granger. Adoption moved by Councilman Royer, seconded by Councilman Spillers, and <br />carried on toll call. City Attorney Currie advised this could not be made an emer- <br />gency ordinance without republishing. <br />LETTER FROM PERSONNEL BOARD RECOMMENDING ANALYSIS AND REVAMPING PRESENT MERIT SYSTEM. <br />Councilman Royer moved that the matter be referred to the Council Civil Service Com- <br />mittee for-atudy and report back, seconded by Councilman Britschgi, and carried. <br />City Manager Rolison suggested the possibility of the Committee meeting with the <br />Board at their meeting Wednesday evening, May 7th, <br />REAL ESTATE COMMITTEE REPORT - ACgUIRE LOT 2D (Lot 2, Block G.) Woodside Acres. The <br />Committee requested additional time to complete their study. This was placed on the <br />agenda. <br />I <br />REAL ESTATE, COMMITTEE REPORT ON PROPOSED SALE OF Lot 14, Block 6, West Redwood. Council- <br />man Rerkner reported additional time was required to permit City Collector Perrin to <br />contact adjacent owners. Councilman Herkner moved this matter be placed on the agenda <br />seconded by Councilman Royer, and carried. <br />4 <br />MR. L. LODI, APPEARING FOR ALFRED ALOE, 1015 VALOTA ROAD. Mr. Lodi explained that Mr. <br />Aloe had purchased a home on Valota Road which had been constructed several years ago. <br />It later developed that the sewer was on the adjacent lot, and the owner was willing <br />l <br />to allow connection to his line. City Engineer Jain stated the policy was to disallow <br />i <br />two services on one line, however, it would be permissable to make an exception if <br />hardship is shown. Mr. Jain explained the reason for the policy was to avoid future <br />troubles should a stoppage occur. Councilman Spillers moved that the City Engineer <br />be authorized to make the connection, it being shown that the new owner was willing <br />to grant the connection. Motion seconded by Councilman Royer, and carried. <br />MR. JOE DI,BONO, 1206 RUBY STREET, appeared in behalf of the OAK, VIRGINIA AND RUBY STREET <br />PROPOSED IMPROVEMENTS. Mr. Jain stated the engineering work had been farmed out to <br />outside firm, and that plans and specifications were nearly completed. It was ex- s <br />plained that work could not be started for approximately two months, however, it was <br />understood that work would be done this year if possible. Mrs. Snell also appeared <br />i <br />and recited the hardships in the area during the past winter. Councilman Britschgi <br />moved, seconded by Councilman Jones that the City Engineer instruct the Street Depart- <br />ment to go into the area and make the streets passable as a temporary measure. <br />Motion carried. <br />MR.
