Councilman Britschgi noted absent. <br />MINUTES APPROVED as mailed of regular meeting May 19th with correction of total bid of <br />Richard Sjoberg on Lots 17 and 18, Block 1 and Lots 17 and 18, Block 2, Reese Sub- <br />division $1750 to 01800 (last paragraph Page 1 of ditto copy), on motion of Council- <br />man Spillers, seconded by Councilman Royer and carried. <br />TEMPORARY REPAIRS, SIDEWALK, 602 Douglas Avenue. City Engineer Jain reported that repairs <br />had been made with asphalt as has been done at other points. <br />f, <br />EXTENSION STREET SIGNS, ROOSEVELT AVENUE. City Engineer"Jain advised order had not been <br />placed for new signs until decision had been reached on whether or not to renumber <br />houses in the area. Hearing will be held at the Planning Commission meeting of <br />May 27th, and Councilman Jones will attend this meeting. <br />{ EARMARK OF FUNDS DERIVED FROM SALE OF CITY PROPERTIES. City Attorney reported such funds <br />could be ear -marked by resolution, and an additional resolution would be necessary to <br />change. Mr. Currie will submit a written opinion on this subject. <br />I PROGRESS7 ESTIMATE #3, STEVENSON PACIFIC-HENDERSON. Payment of $1308.87 was authorized on <br />motion of Councilman Spillers, seconded by Councilman Jones and carried. It was <br />noted the work was being done under the inspection of the Building Inspectors.but <br />under the supervision of the City Engineer, hence the approval of the latter on the <br />�f <br />estimate. <br />ABANDONMENT OF PORTION OF FAIRVIEW AVENUE BETWEEN OAK AND REDWOOD AVENUES. This was <br />recommended by the Planning Commission, all property owners in the block signing <br />except one. Recommendation approved on motion of Councilman Royer, seconded by <br />11j <br />Councilman Spillers subjects to expense to be paid by T. m. Hoerler at 465 Fairview. <br />Motion carried. <br />PERMITS TO SELL SAFE AND SANE FIREWORKS granted to Toy and Craft Shop, 2116 Broadway, <br />and to Lavering Variety Store, 1712 E1 Camino Real, it being shown by Fire Marshal <br />Drivon that all regulations had been complied with. City Manager Rolison approved <br />permits and so ordered on motion of Councilman Spillers, seconded by Councilman <br />Jones and carried. <br />
