<br />REDWOOD CITY COUNCIL
<br />June 30th, 1952 - 8:00 P. M.
<br />ON ROLL CALL the following were present: Council Members: Carl A. Britschgi, Sidney D.
<br />Herkner, Wm. H. Royer, Robt. V. Spillers, Christine Tinne7, Mayor Floyd D. Granger
<br />and City Clerk Ralph S. Dodge. Also present were: City Manager E. A. Rolison, City
<br />Attorney 0. B. Currie, City Engineer Glenn M. Jain, Civil Engineering Assistant Art
<br />Esklin, Police Chief S. D. Wood, Administrative Assistant Orrin Wendling, Water
<br />Superintendent H. L. Winter, Auditor -Assessor J. J. Brophy, Assistant Building
<br />Inspectors Stephen Kreiss and Berwin Gyselbrecht. Councilman Jones noted absent.
<br />COMMITTEE REPORT - ON LETTER OF JUNE 5th WITH REFERENCE TO ABANDONMENT CHESTNUT STREET
<br />PLAYGROUND AND LOCATION OF BUILDING FOR 130Y SCOUTS. Councilman Royer made a partial
<br />report stating that the abandonment of Chestnut Street had been reconsidered and it
<br />was now decided not to close this playground. The committee is studying another
<br />possibility for location of Boy Scouts building. Councilman Royer moved that the
<br />matter be carried over for another 30 days, seconded by Councilman Spillers and
<br />carried.
<br />PUBLIC HEARING - PROPOSED IMPROVEMENTS OAK AVENUE. Affidavits of posting and publication
<br />were ordered filed.
<br />Mr. IT. L. Hildreth spoke from the floor and requested that work be undertaken as,soon
<br />as possible so as not to run into the winter. There being no one further to discuss
<br />the matter, hearing was declared closed.
<br />RESOLUTION No. 1273 OF PUBLIC CONVENIENCE AND NECESSITY, OAK AVE-1TUr. IMPROVE1.211TS, was
<br />offered by Councilman Spillers, who moved adoption, seconded by Councilman Britschgi
<br />and carried on roll call, Councilman Jones noted absent.
<br />RESOLUTION 110. 1274 APPROVING PLANS AND SPECIFICATIONS, OAK AVENUE IMPROVE1,MITTS, was
<br />offered by Councilman Herkner, who moved adoption, seconded by Councilwoman Tinney
<br />and carried on roll call, Councilman Jones noted absent.
<br />RESOLUTION No. 1275 OF INTENTION TO CONSTRUCT CERTAIN IMPROVEMENTS, OAK AVENUE, and setting
<br />date for hearing, July 21st, was offered by Councilman Spillers, who moved adoption,
<br />seconded by Councilman Royer and carried on roll call, Councilman.Jones noted absent.
<br />RESOLUTION No. 1276 FIXING MINIMUM WAGE SCALE, OAK AVENUE IMPROVEMENTS, was offered by
<br />Councilman Herkner, who moved adoption, seconded by Councilman Britschgi and carried
<br />on roll call, Councilman Jones noted absent.
<br />RESOLUTION No. 1277 CALLING FOR BIDS, OAK AVENUE IMPROVEMENTS, was offered by Councilman
<br />Britschgi who moved adoption, seconded by Councilman Spillers and carried on roll call,
<br />Councilman Jones noted absent.
<br />PUBLIC HEARING - PROPOSED IMPROVEMENTS JUNIPERO AVENUE IMPROVEMENTS. Affidavits. of posting
<br />and publication ordered filed. Mr. Simon Peters appeared and voiced his appreciation
<br />of cooperation he had received from the Engineering Department stating further that
<br />he was the owner of 7 lots and was heartily in favor of the project. There being no
