I <br />157 <br />Councilman Weiss moved that the City Clerk see that Paul Jones's letter by made a part of,the minutes, <br />seconded by Councilman Stout, also letters of Planning Commission and City Clerk. <br />It is with extreme pleasure that I am informed of your action in naming a street after <br />me. The years of association with your body is an experience that I shall always cherish <br />and remember. <br />Gratefully <br />Paul Jones <br />As you no doubt know, the City Council approved the action of the Planning Commission <br />U in naming the interior street between Hoover, Page, 10th and 8th Avenues Jones Court in your <br />honor. Your many years in the service of your city are greatly appreciated, and this is a <br />small expression of the thoughts of your former fellow councilmen and the members of the <br />Planning Commission. <br />Yours very truly, <br />R. Dodge, City„Clerk <br />t <br />At the last regular meeting of your planning commission held on April 24th a motion <br />was adopted recommending naming the interior un -named street between Hoover, Page, 10th <br />and 8th,Streets - Jones Court. <br />Very truly yours, <br />Leonard Joesten <br />Councilman Britschgi asked to refer back to the Chamber of Commerce letter regarding tree planting on the <br />S.,P. r/w. Councilman Britschgi moved that a letter be sent tothe Chamber of Commerce complimenting the <br />City Beautificiation Committee for the work they are doing, seconded by Councilman Granger and carried. <br />PLANNING COMMISSION RECOMMENDED ADOPTING AN ORDINANCE REQUIRING A SURVEY TO ADEQUATELY AND ACCURATELY LOCATE <br />PROPERTY LINES IN ORDER TO DETERMINE YARD MEASUREMENTS WHEN A BUILDING IS TO BE CONSTRUCTED. The City <br />Attorney stated that there were two ordinances which should be considered. The one mentioned above and the <br />other construction of driveway approach at street,grade at property line. This was followed by discussion <br />after which Councilman Weiss moved introduction of ordinance requiring survey to adequately and accurately <br />locate property lines in order to obtain a building permit, seconded by Councilman Spillers. This was <br />followed by discussion after which the motion carried on roll call. <br />i <br />Councilman Spillers offered introduction of ordinance requiring proper construction of driveway approach <br />at street grade at property line, seconded by Councilman Weiss and carried. <br />PLANNING COMMISSION RECOMMENDED APPROVAL INITIATIVE OF PLANNING COMMISSION TO REZONE HIGHLANDS OF EMERALD LAKE <br />AND OAK MOLL MANOR FROM °U° TO R-1 DISTRICT, EXCEPTING THAT AREA N(Y!f ZONED C -1-H DISTRICT.. The Planning <br />Commission held lengthy discussion on the subject and feel this area can be developed as 6000 sq. ft. lots <br />if some method of setting up a road pattern can be devised. Councilman Spillers moved that.,tbe planning <br />Commissionts recommendation be approved, seconded by Councilman Britschgi. This was followed by discussion. <br />The City Attorney stated that this should be set for a public hearing. Councilman Spillers withdrew his <br />motion and then moved to set this for a public hearing in two weeks, May 28th, seconded by Councilman <br />Weiss and carried. <br />PLANNING COMMISSION APPROVE APPLICATION OF E. LEIN FOR VARIANCE TO A LL0,T )' REAR YARD IN C -1-F DISTRICT, LOT 3, <br />BLOCK 2, REDWOOD VILLA PARK (2510 El Camino Real). Councilman Spillers offered RESOLUTION 2037 FOR VARIANCE <br />FOR ABOVE and moved its adoption, seconded by Councilman Britschgi. This was followed by discussion in <br />regard to fire restrictions. The motion carried on roll call vrith Councilman Weiss voting No. <br />TRAFFIC COMMITTEE RECOAB ENDED MOVING BUS STOPS TO OPPOSITE SIDES OF INTERSECTIONS EL CAMINO REAL. It is the <br />recommendation of the Traffic Committee that the present bus stops on.E1 Camino Real be moved to the <br />#ollowing locations: <br />, On the Hest side of El Camino Real as follows: <br />From the North side of Jefferson to the South side, <br />From the North side of Roosevelt to the South side, <br />From the North side of Oakwood Drive to the South side. <br />On the East side of El Camino Real as follows: <br />From the south side of Spruce Street to the'North side of Main Street, <br />From the South side of Beech to the North side, <br />From the 4outh side of Hopkins to the North side. <br />Councilman Spillers moved approval of the Traffic Committee's recommendation seconded by Councilman Stout <br />
