Councilman Spillers offered ORDINANCE 600.66 REZONING LOTS 4, 5, and 63 VALOTA 'PARK, FROM <br />R-1 TO R-2 DISTRICT and moved its adoption, seconded by Councilman Royer and carried on roll call. <br />PLANNING C011MISSION RECOMMENDATION REGARDING CASAURANG AND SOLARI APPLICATION TO REZONE AREA AT WHIPPLE AND <br />ARGUELLO. The Clerk read the letter from the Planning Commission in which they stated that due to an <br />oversight Mr. Conrmv failed to mail postal cars on the Casaurang and Solari rezoning at 'Whipple and Arguello <br />although the legal notice was published. They suggested that the matter be referred back to the Planning <br />Commission for a further hearing. Councilman'Britschgi moved that the matter be referred back to the <br />Planning Commission, eeconded by Councilman Granger and carried. <br />COUNCILMAN Britschgi report of yacht harbor committee. Councilman Britschgi reported that J. 0. Archibald has <br />almost completed the job as far as the $5,000 will go, and he read the following letter from Mr. Archibald <br />to the° Council.' " ' <br />"I am very pleased to be able to participate in the start of'the Redwood City Yacht <br />Harbor Project. <br />This project, when completed, will help Leslie Salt Company, one of my best customers, <br />to solve the problem of docking vessels at their loading dock without damage to boats in <br />the .present Yacht Harbor location. <br />Due to this fact and also wishing to contribute to this worthwhile project, I am <br />donating the invoice in the amount of x`1,254.35, which covers the construction of the <br />levee for the new road alignment and the placing of 2,568 cubic yard of rock fill. <br />By taking advantage of the rock fill while available, the cost to the Yacht Harbor <br />was only seventy two cents per cubic yard, which is a good saving. <br />Mr. T. I. Mosel,r, of Dalmo Victor Company, has donated the 2,568 yards of rock fill, <br />which is a donation of $642.00. Mr. Moseley owns a large yacht, and I have expressed <br />my thanks to him for his help for the Yacht Harbor". <br />Councilman Britschgi "stated that the price of the rock is well over the $642.00 as quoted in the letter. <br />The Committee had a meetin in regard to the matter of the Port Commission minutes and also in regard to the <br />Park and Recreation Commission. The Port Commission is ready to help the City in any wast' they can. The <br />spoils from the dredging will be dropped on'the port property between the Stanford building and the railroad <br />tracks. He further reported that Mr. Jain was to continue with the plans and specs and a copy should be <br />turned over to the Port so they may clear the mAtter with the Army engineers. <br />Councilman Britschgi asked that Mr. Archibald be allowed to continue with the job and the City Manager <br />. . <br />should be allowed to call for bids f or dredging. City Engineer Jain stated that they are at a standstill <br />until they know for sure what the Council wishes in regard to the plans. Councilman Britschgi stated that <br />the Committee will be glad to meet with Mr. Jain whenever he is ready. <br />Councilman Britschgi moved that the City Clerk write a letter of thanks to -Mr. J. 0. Archibald and Mr. T. I. <br />Moseley, seconded by Councilman Stout and carried. <br />REPORT BY COUNCILMAN GRANGER REGARDING EXTENSION OF FRANKLIN STREET TO VTINKLEBLECK STREET. Councilman Granger <br />stated that.a letter had been received from the Southern Pacific Company regarding proposal to rezone <br />property of Southern Pacific Company in the vicinity of the passenger station and extension of Franklin <br />Street. Their Engineering Department is now preparing description of the area to be covered by easement. <br />When the description has been completed, Mr. Widdas, Real Estate Manager Southern Pacific Company; will <br />arrange for preparation of easement and submit it for execution on behalf of the City. <br />REPORT WEED ABATEMENT INVESTIGATING COMMITTEE.
