Councilman Granger stated that the PCA asked for consideration of being allowed to install temporary lighting for the temporary booths this year. Councilman Granger moved that the Building Inspector look with favor on the temporary lighting as requested, seconded by Councilman Stout and carried. Dodge, ON ROLL CALL the following were noted present: Councilmen Floyd D. Granger, Hiram S. Stout, Louis Weiss, Ray Weymouth, Mayor William H. Royer and City Clerk R. S. Dodge. Council- men 'Sidney D. Herkner and Robert V. Spillbrs were noted absent. Also present were City Manager E. A. Rolison, City Engineer Glenn M. Jain, City Attorney Robert J. Costello, Water Superintendent H. L. Winter, Police Chief William Faulstich, Engineering Associate William Martin, Fire 1Chief J. L. Lodi, Building Inspector S. H. Kreiss, Assistant Water Superintendent Warren Mitchell, Assessor -Auditor John J. Brophy, Police Captain Theodore Moudakas, Assistant to the City Manager L. A. Kimball and Senior Stenographer Clerk Vivian Holmquist. Councilman Stout moved to grant permission to Councilman Weymouth to leave the State, seconded by Councilman Weiss and carried. CONTINUATION OF PUBLIC HEARING AND INTRODUCTION OF RESOLUTION AND ORDINANCE, EICHORN TERRITORY ANNEXATION. The Mayor announced that this matter would be continued for.another week, and asked if there was anyone wishing to speak on the matter. Since there was no response from the audience, Councilman Weiss moved that the hearing be continued for one week, seconded by Councilman Weymouth and carried. CITY ENGINEER REPORT ON JEFFERSON AVENUE PLAN LINES. The Clerk read the following letter from the City Engineer: "In accordance with the Council's request of June 24, we have prepared drawings showing conditions at the northwesterly corner of Jefferson Avenue and Middlefield Road. Due to the fact that a notice was not sent to Dr. Mayer, owner of Portions of Lots 4 and 5, Block 2, Diller Addition, plans were prepared for an office building to be constructed beyond the Plan Lines adopted March 11, 1957s by Resolution No. 2197• A re -study of this intersection by the Engineering Department and Traffic Study Committee indicates that reconstruction of this corner by the installation of a 25 foot radius curb would relieve the traffic situation considerably, and would not seriously affect this property. As owner of this property,. Dr. Mayer has agreed to deed to the City an area approximately 145 square feet in area in consideration of the City constructing the additional parkway sidewalk recently ordered by Sidewalk Notice No. 231. The proposed 25 foot radius curb is shown on the attached sketch in red, the property to be deeded to the City by Dr. Mayer in blue, and the sidewalk area proposed to be constructed by City expense is cross -hatched. In our opinion, this would be a fair exchange in order to obtain the property in question, and to permit future reconstruction of this corner without acquisition of expensive property. Dr. Mayer has also agreed to out off one corner of his building approximately five feet in each direction to permit this future recon- struction.
