Councilman Spillers moved approval of <br />the Planning Commissionts recommendation and authorized the City Attorney to draw up <br />the necessary resolution, seconded by Councilman Weymouth. Councilman Weiss asked if <br />the Building Inspector and Fire Chief approved this. Building Inspector Kreiss stated <br />30 <br />OF LOCAL REGULATIONS OF TRAFFIC UPON STATE HIGHWAYS BY THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC <br />WORKS OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA and moved its adoption, seconded by Councilman <br />�j <br />Spillers and carried on roll call. The affidavit of publication was prdered <br />filed. <br />ADOPT ORDINANCE -ESTABLISHING "NO PARKING" ON JEFFERSON AVENUE BETWEEN ADAMS STREET <br />AND UPTON STREET BETWEEN CERTAIN HOURS. The Clerk read the title of the ordinance. <br />ilk <br />The affidavit of publication was ordered filed. There being no protests Council- <br />man Weymouth offered ORDINANCE 867 AMENDING SECTION 193 OF ORDINANCE NO. 758 <br />RELATIVE TO TRARFIC REGULATION, TO PROHIBIT PARKING ON JEFFERSON AVENUE BETWEEN <br />ADAMS STREET AND UPTON STREET BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 7 TO 9 A.M., AND 4 TO 7 P.M. <br />i' <br />and moved its adoption, seconded by Councilman Weiss. Councilman Weiss raised the E' <br />question of whether or not they were eliminating parking on Saturdays, Sundays and <br />holidays. The City Engineer stated that the signs would be ordered "excepting <br />Saturday, Sunday and Holidays." The motion carried on roll call. <br />1 <br />Councilman Granger offered RESOLUTION 2284 AMENDING SECTION 1 OF THE RULES AND REGULATIONS <br />1 <br />OF THE REDWOOD CITY WATER DEPARTMENT TO PROVIDE FOR AN INCREASE IN SERVICE RATE <br />CHARGES and moved its adoption, seconded by Councilman Spillers. Councilman Herkner <br />wanted to know if this had to do only.with charges for water connections. The <br />answer was yes. The motion carried on roll call. Councilman Stout offered RESOLUTION <br />P G R D FOR 1957-58 and moved its adoption, seconded by Councilman <br />O AGGREE EENT,, DR. <br />RES OLU'P AND MAYER'S11ARIANCE, CORNER MIDDLEFIELD ROAD AND JEFFERSON <br />AVENUE. The Mayor announced that this would be held over for one week. <br />Councilmen Spillers offered RESOLUTION 2286 TRANSFERRING AND APPROPRIATING CERTAIN MONEYS <br />FROM THE UNBUDGETED UNAPPROPRIATED RESERVE OF THE GENERAL FUND TO CERTAIN SPECIFIED <br />DEPARTMENTS OR OFFICES FOR PAYMENT OF OUTSTANDING OBLIGATIONS AT THE CLOSE OF' THE <br />FISCAL YEAR JULY 1, 1956 -NNE 30, 1957, and moved its adoption, seconded by Councilman <br />Herkner and carried on roll call. <br />AUTHORIZE TRANSFER OF FUNDS TO OFFSET DEFICIT IN PARKING DISTRICT NO. 1 FUNDS. It was <br />i <br />announced that a resolution was not necessary and this could be paid from the con- <br />{ <br />struction fund. Councilman Stout moved to allow the transfer, seconded by Councilman <br />j <br />Spillers. This was followed by discussion after which the motion carried. <br />LEAGUE DINNER MEETING THURSDAY, JULY 18th, at the Live Oak Inn, Los Gatos at 7:30 p.m. The <br />Clerk called the roll to see who would be going to the meeting. <br />i <br />REAPPOINTMENT TO EXPIRING TERMS: <br />it <br />LIBRARY BOARD: Councilman Stout moved to reappoint A.
