It is,my belief that even the possibility of the discontinuance of the Child Care Center is to be deplored, haturally its actual discontinuance would be a calamity F and a dis-service to the community". ��q Councilman Weiss moved that the City Attorney be instructed to prepare and submit at the next council meeting a suitable resolution for adoption and submission to the Redwood City Board of Education urging upon them the continued operation of said 'Child R Care Center under their sponsorship and supervisioh, seconded by Councilman Stout. Mayor Royer stated that a lady had contacted him in regard to this matter and he stated that he contacted the County and they will send a copy of their resolution. The motion carried. Councilman Granger moved that the information be obtained from the School Board as to their reasons why they are not in favor of continuing this program and report back to the Council, seconded by Councilman Stout and carried. Councilman Weiss read the following: "Now that the Budget and the Appropriation Ordinance is out of the way and that the several rather important matters have been farmed out to various committees and depart- ments,, it appears appropriate that,I again bring up the question of the 80 or more items that"have been brought'before the"council And'haVe nbt to date' been processed to cbn= elusion. However since the Mayor has undertaken the duty and responsibility of compiling and editing our agenda, I am not going into a detailed liding of all the items involved; I shall merely request that the following items which I consider of sufficient importance be given or assigned a high priority for early consideration and processing: 1. Re-evaluation of Building Permit Fees - First considered at Council meeting of May 28, 195$• 2. City Manager's report on Gas Tax apportionment to City and County. See minutes of Council meeting of March 4, 1957• 3. The question of annexation, etc. of lands adjacent to Harbor Boulevard and Port of Redwood City. See minutes of February 11, 1957, 4. Hillside Development, etc. referred to Planning Commission for report. See minutes of November 5, 1956. 5. Advisability of preparing a comprehensive annual report of city affirs, referred to City Manager for study and submission of recommendations. See minutes of September 24, 1956. 6. Pick up Service for garden refuse, etc. - City Manager to make study and submit report and recommendation. See minutes of January 7, 1957• 7. Rehabilitation of Old Veterans Building at Warren and Standish. First considered at Council meeting.of June 18, 1956. 8. Microfilming of Records. See minutes of June 4, 1956• 9. City Manager to submit report on Parking Lots - meters and summarization of costs and expenditures. See minutes of September 4, 1956. Mr. Mayor, I urge that these matters be given attention in accordance with your views as to their improtance." Councilman Granger offered RESOLUTION 2287 URGINING APPROVAL BY THE GOVERNOR OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA OF CERTAIN LEGISLATION ADOPTED BY THE STATE LEGISLATURE and moved its adoption. This was followed by discussion. The resolution has the approval of the City Manager, City Attorney and the Assistant to the City Manager. Councilman Spillers seconded the motion. Councilman Weiss stated that he wanted to be briefed on the items. The Mayor stated that this had been discussed briefly at the study meeting. Councilman Granger stated that he wanted the minutes to show that he was approving this because he is just notifying the Governor that they are interested in the money when it is available
