Councilman Royer moved to set the matter f or public hearing on October 3rd, <br />seconded by Councilman Stehle and carried. <br />REQUEST BY ODDSTAD HOMES FOR VARIANCE FROM SIDENALK ORDINANCE, 1735 Broadway - 33 unit apartment. The <br />City Engineer recommended against granting this variance. Gordon Hanson was present to answer <br />questions for Oddstad Homes. The affidavit of publication was ordered filed. <br />Councilman Herkner moved adoption of ORDINANCE NO. 980 ADDING SECTIONS 154, 155, 196, 196.1 AND 196.2 <br />TO ORDINANCE NO. 758 TO ESTABLISH A VEHICLE TOW AWAY ZONE FOR EL CAMINO REAL BETWEEN WINKLEBLECK <br />STREET AND BREWSTER AVENUE AND TO ADOPT A PROCEDURE FOR THE REMOVAL OF VEHICLES, seconded by Coun- <br />cilman Stehl6 and carried unanimously on roll call, Councilman Granger being noted absent. The <br />affidavit of publication was ordered filed. <br />PERSONNEL BOARD RECOMMENDATIONS THAT FRINGE BENEFITS.BE GRANTED <br />CONSTRUCTION INSPECTORS. <br />At the Personnel Board meeting on Tuesday, August 9, 1960s the Board made the following recom- <br />mendations: <br />Allowance of fringe benefits to those engineering construction inspectors who have <br />worked at least 1,008 hours (the equivalent of 6 months) during a twelve month <br />period, to be fi#ured at 1 day sick leave, 1 day disability leave, and 5/6 day <br />vacation leave per 168 hours workeds <br />Construction inspectors automatically go -into State Retirement after a six month <br />period, but no benefits are granted. <br />
