<br />CLAIM FOR ALLEGED INJURIES, GLORIA M. NICOLL, 1584 Granger Way. Councilman Royer moved that the claim be denied
<br />and referred to the insurance carrier (MINUTE ORDER #60-204)0 seconded by Councilman Fields and carried.
<br />Councilman Rosselli moved adoption of RESOLUTION NO, 3211 COMMENDING MARY GREGG THORNING ON THE OCCASION OF HER
<br />RETIREMENT FROM THE REDWOOD CITY LIBRARY BOARD, seconded by Councilman Royer and carried unanimously on
<br />roll call, Councilmen Granger, Stehle and Mayor Weymouth being noted absent.
<br />COMMUNICATIONS:
<br />Division of Highways sent a notice of a public taeating to be held at 2:00 p. m., Thursday, October 6, 1960s
<br />in the Board of Supervisors Chambers, on the topic of Route 289, popularly known as the"Bayfront Freewayll$
<br />in the vicinity of Route 105, the San Mateo Bridge Route.
<br />Ministerial Association expressed their interest in the Easter Cross and wanted it known that the ministers
<br />of the community are most interested in doing everything possible to make certain this landmark will continue
<br />to stand. This was followed by discussion, the City Manager to continue his investigation. .
<br />Councilman Fields asked if the Council was going to have a representative at the September 28th Rapid Transit
<br />meeting.,v This was followed by discussion. Councilmen Fields and Herkner stated that they planned to
<br />attend the meeting and asked the City Manager to forward them any and all information he might have pertain-
<br />ing to the subject.
<br />Mayor pro -tem Herkner stated that the Council had been requested by the Association of City Mayors to organize
<br />a "Mayors and Councilmen's Committee Against Proposition No. 15" in each city, inviting the Chamber of Com-
<br />merce as co -members. It was decided to wait until the return of Mayor Weymouth before a committee was ap-
<br />pointd.
<br />Councilman Royer moved that the meeting be adjourned, seconded by Councilman Fields and carried. Meeting ad-

<br />Invocation was led by Reverend Ralph York, Woodside Road Community Methodist Church,
<br />Reverend York reported on behalf of the Ministerial Association that they had secured free of charge the services
<br />of Hensolt and Chin, Structural Engineers, who will make a preliminary survey of the conditions of the cross,
<br />determine condition of present foundation, condition of cross, feasibility of repairing cross, possibility of
<br />moving cross from its present location, etc.
<br />ON ROLL CALL the following were noted present: Councilmen Ron W. Fields, Sidney D. Herkner, John Rosselli, William
<br />H. Royer, Mayor Ray A. Weymouth and City Clerk Helen C. Moore. Also present were City Manager J. E. Neal,

<br />PUBLIC HEARING ON HIGHLANDS TERRITORY N0, 11 ANNEXATION, formerly Upland Road Annexation; Lots 1, 2, 7 and 80 Oak
<br />Knoll Manor - John A. Gull. The affidavits of publication and mailing were ordered filed. Also the affidavit
<br />of Auditor of assessed value of lands and improvements thereon. The ppblic hearing was declared open and the
<br />affidavit of Clerk that owners of neither half of •the value of the territory, nor owners of half of publicly-
