There being no protests, written or oral, Councilman Royer <br />moved that the public hearing be closed, seconded by Councilman Herkner and carried. <br />Councilman Herkner moved adoption of RESOLUTION NO. 3212 OF THE.COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY <br />FINDING AND DETERMINING THAT -PROTEST TO THE PROPOSED ANNEXATION TO THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY OF CERTAIN <br />UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESIGNATED AS "HIGHLANDS TERRITORY NO. 11" HAS NOT BEEN MADE BY OWNERS OF ONE- <br />HALF OF THE VALUE OF PRIVATE PROPERTY WITHIN SUCH TERRITCRY AS SHOWN BY THE LAST EQUALIZED ASSESSMENT <br />ROLL, NOR BY THE OWNERS OF ONE-HALF CF THE VALUE OF PUBLICLY OWNED PROPERTY WITHIN SAID TERRITORY AS <br />DETERMINED BY SAID COUNCIL, seconded ,by Councilman Rosselli and carried unanimously on roll call, <br />Councilmen Granger and Stehle being noted Absent. <br />Councilman Fields moved introduction of an ordinance of the City of Redwood City approving the annexa- <br />tion to the City of Redwood City of certain uninhabited territory designated "Highlands Territory No. <br />11", and herein described, and herein annexing said territory to said City of Redwood City, seconded <br />by Councilman Royer and carried. <br />PUBLIC HEARING ON RESOLUTION OF PRELIMINARY DETERMINATION, MARSHALL STREET IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT, MAIN STREET <br />TO JEFFERSON AVENUE. The public hearing was declared open and the affidavits of posting and publication <br />were ordered filed. The Mayor asked that any communication received be filed. Adoption of the nee- <br />essary resolution of public convenience and necessity requires six affirmative votes, therefore, the <br />Mayor asked that the public hearing be continued and no discussion be received. Councilman Rosselli <br />moved to continue the public hearing to October 10th, seconded by Councilman Royer and carried. <br />PUBLIC HEARING CN THE RESOLUTION OF INTENTION BY THE PLANNING COMMISSION TO REZONE ALL OF LATS 1 THROUGH 7 <br />EXCEPT THE WESTERLY ONE-HALF OF LOT 3, BLOCK C, WOODSIDE ACRES SUBDIVISION NO. 1 from R-22 Duplex <br />District, to an R -3-G, Garden Apartment District. The public hearing was declared open and the affi- <br />davits of notice were ordered filed. The report of the Planning Commission was read. There were no <br />written communications. Residents of Union Avenue were present to state their feelings with regard <br />to R -3-G zoning on Union Avenue. They did not protest the proposed zoning but asked for consideration <br />of no further zoning westward. Councilman Royer moved that the public hearing be closed, seconded by <br />Councilman Rosselli and carried. <br />Councilman Royer moved introduction of an ordinance amending Ordinance No. 600, the Zoning Ordinance, <br />to rezone certain herein described property from "R-2 District to 11R --3-G" District, seconded by Coun- <br />cilman Herkner who stated that he wanted to go on record as objecting to extension of R -3-G rezoning <br />beyond Gordon Street. ,Councilman Fields stated that he felt they should analyze the whole area before <br />rezoning any part of it. The motion carried on roll call with Councilmen Herkner, Royer and Mayor <br />Weymouth voting yes. Councilmen Fields and Rosselli voting no and Councilmen Granger and Stehle being <br />noted absent. <br />PUBLIC HEARING ON RESOLUTION OF INTENTION BY THE PLANNING COMMISSION TO REZONE LOTS 1 THROUGH 23, BLOCK 1 <br />AND LOTS 1 THROUGH 139 BLOCK 2, NEWELL PARK SUBDIVISION, FRCM "Urrr UNCLASSIIEIED DISTRICT TO R-12 SINGLE <br />FAMILY RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT. The public hearing was declared open and the affidavits of notice ordered <br />filed. The report of the Planning Commission was read. There being no protests, written or oral, <br />Councilman Rosselli moved that the public hearing be closed, seconded by Councilman Fields and carried. <br />Councilman Fields moved introduction of an ordinance amending Ordinance No. 600, the Zoning Ordinance, <br />to rezone certain herein described property from "U" District to fIR-11"District, seconded by Councilman <br />Rosselli and carried. <br />Councilman Rosselli moved adoption of RESOLUTION NO. 3213 ADOPTING AMENDMENTS TO THE PERSONNEL RULES AND <br />REGULATIONS.TO PROVIDE FOR THE PERIOD OF EMPLOYMENT OF, AND FRINGE BENEFITS FOR, ENGINEERING CONSTRUCTION <br />INSPECTORS, seconded by Councilman Herknerand carried unanimously on roll call, Councilmen Granger and <br />Stehle being Noted absent. <br />
