Councilman Fields moved to set the matter for public hearing on October 31st, sec - <br />ended by Councilman Rosselli and carried. <br />Councilman Rosselli moved introduction of an ordinance appropriating the sum of $4,000 from the Unbudgeted, Una- <br />ppropriated Balance of the General Fund to the Tennis Court Resurfacing Account in the General Fund, seconded <br />by Councilman Fields and carried. <br />Request of Lindsey Wheatley for six months extension of•their agreement to construct alley improvements at rear <br />of their Rolison Garden Apartments, Belle Haven Subdivision, The City Attorney announced that he was in " I <br />receipt of the proper bond and also had a letter from the Bonding Company approving the extension. Council- <br />man Royer moved to grant the requested extension (MINUTE ORDER ,#60-215), seconded by Councilman Rosselli and <br />carried. <br />COMMUNICATIONS: <br />The Chamber of Commerce Beautification Committee recommended that the City lake measures to clean the side- <br />walks, much of which is caused by the gum and other substance which can't be removed by sweeping, was called <br />to the Chamberfs attention by complaints of merchants and residents and even newspaper comment. Councilman <br />Rosselli suggested that the Chamber of Commerce participate and pay the cost. The City Manager was requested <br />to contact the Chamber of Commerce to see if they would pay the cost. The City has a steam cleaner that could <br />be used. <br />Claims 34252 through 34351, totaling $120,411.1.17, were ordered paid on motion of Councilman^R osselli, seconded by <br />Councilman Fields and carried. <br />The City Attorney reported onU uck Route Litigation. They have gone forward with the injunctions, and have ans- <br />wered three complaints. Mr. Costello asked that a committee be formed to meet with him to discuss the pro- <br />blem. The Mayor appointed CouncilmenRoyer and Herkner, Mr. Neal, Mr. Costello and himself 9s•the committee. <br />They would hold their first meeting Wednesday at 4:00 p. m. <br />Mayor Weymouth appointed- Councilmen Rosselli, Chairman, and Fields to act as a committee against Proposition No. <br />15. <br />Councilman Rosselli discussed the problem of sidewalks on Rosemary Lane. C ity Engineer Jain was requested to make <br />a full investigation and report back next week. <br />Cogncilman Rosselli moved that the meeting be adjourned, seconded by Councilman Royer and carried.
