INGS AND RESIDENTIAL USES IN DISTRICTS OTHER THAN WR" DISTRICTS. The public hearing, was declared open and the affidavits of notice were ordered filed. The Planning Commission found the following facts: 1. Multi -family or residential uses openly permitted,.in commercial zones without the iiormal minimum require- ments for this development are causing overbuilding on certain parcels'and changing the character of the commercial area. 2. There are commercially zoned districts which do not have industrial cr commercial demands at this time and the existing regulations permit haphazard filling -in of the multi -family and residential uses in business districts. 3. No one appeared at the public hearing in protest. The Planning Commission recommends the zoning ordinance be amended to exclude residential use from the pro- fessionals commercial and industrial districts. There were no written communications. Andy Oddstad, Mr. Aaronson, George Crothers and John Tehaney all pro- tested and stated the reasons for their protests. Planning Commissioner MacDonald explained wby they felt this amendment was necessary. The Council raised the question of the possibility of adding a use permit section to this .proposed amendment. Councilman Fields moved to continue the public hearing to November 21st, seconded by Councilman Stehle. The City Attorney recommended that they continue this matter to the shortest possible time. The motion was changed to continue the matter to November 111th and then carried unanimously. .PUBLIC HEARING ON REAPPORTIONMENT CF ASSESSMENT NO. 10,9 INDUSTRIAL WAY, REQUESTED BY ROBERT AND LUCY OMENS.
