After Considerable Council discussion, Councilman Rosselli moved <br />that the public hearing be closed, seconded by Councilman Fields and carried. <br />Councilman Rosselli moved introduction of an ordinance adding Sections 15.2 and. 15.3 to Ordinance No. 600, <br />the Redwood City Zoning, Ordinances to require that garages, garage spaces and parking spaces have access to <br />improved public rights of. way, seconded by Councilman Stehle and ca rried unanimously on roll call vote. <br />i <br />PUBLIC HEARING ON RESOLUTION OF INDENTION BY THE PLANNING COMMISSION TO AMEND CRDINANCE NO. 600 TO PROHIBIT DWELL- , <br />? INGS AND RESIDENTIAL USES IN DISTRICTS OTHER THAN WR" DISTRICTS. The public hearing, was declared open and <br />the affidavits of notice were ordered filed. The Planning Commission found the following facts: <br />1. Multi -family or residential uses openly permitted,.in commercial zones without the iiormal minimum require- <br />ments for this development are causing overbuilding on certain parcels'and changing the character of the <br />commercial area. <br />2. There are commercially zoned districts which do not have industrial cr commercial demands at this time <br />and the existing regulations permit haphazard filling -in of the multi -family and residential uses in <br />business districts. <br />3. No one appeared at the public hearing in protest. <br />The Planning Commission recommends the zoning ordinance be amended to exclude residential use from the pro- <br />fessionals commercial and industrial districts. <br />There were no written communications. Andy Oddstad, Mr. Aaronson, George Crothers and John Tehaney all pro- <br />tested and stated the reasons for their protests. Planning Commissioner MacDonald explained wby they felt <br />this amendment was necessary. The Council raised the question of the possibility of adding a use permit <br />section to this .proposed amendment. Councilman Fields moved to continue the public hearing to November 21st, <br />seconded by Councilman Stehle. The City Attorney recommended that they continue this matter to the shortest <br />possible time. The motion was changed to continue the matter to November 111th and then carried unanimously. <br />.PUBLIC HEARING ON REAPPORTIONMENT CF ASSESSMENT NO. 10,9 INDUSTRIAL WAY, REQUESTED BY ROBERT AND LUCY OMENS. There being no protests, written or oral, Councilman Royer moved that the public <br />hearing be closed, seconded by Councilman Fields and carried.
