<br />REQUEST FROM DIVISION OF HIGHWAYS TO CANCEL TAXES AS PER SECTION 4986 OF THE REVENUE AND TAXATION CODE ...
<br />William A. Waters; et ux (Hancock and Manzanita Streets); Lot 6 in Block 27, Map of Eastern Addition,
<br />Councilman Fields moved to cancel the taxes as requested subject to approval of the City Attorney
<br />(MINUTE ORDER #60-262), seconded by Councilman Herkner and carried.
<br />REPORT ON BID OPENING, WATERPROOFING OF RESERVOIRS. The following bids were received after re -advertising:
<br />It is recommended that Proposal I be followed. It calls for monoform coating 6f the top of the roofs,
<br />underside of the roofs, and on the floors of the tanks.
<br />It is recommended that the low bid of Christy Roofing Company, in the amount of $28,236.46 for Proposal
<br />I be accepted, and that all other bids be rejected.
<br />Councilman Royer moved adoption of RESOLUTION NO. 3265 AWARDING BID FOR WATERPROCFING OF SEQUOIA
<br />RESERVOIRS, REJECTING.ALL OTHER'BIDS RECEIVED, AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AGREEMENT THEREFOR
<br />(.Proposal I, $283236.46), seconded by Councilman Granger and carried unanimously on roll call.
<br />Resolution authorizing execution of agreement for construction of alley improvements, Block 23 Friendly
<br />Acres Subdivision No.,2. Thealley abuts Lots 9 through 183 Block 2. This improvement is a condition
<br />of the lot split, and the agreement will insure the construction of the improvements, regardless of
<br />whether or not the assessment district for•the alley improvements which was authorized by the Council
<br />' at the meeting of December 5, 19603 goes through. Councilman Royer moved adoption of RESOLUTION N0.
<br />3266 AUTHORIZING IMPROVEMENT OF PUBLIC ALLEY AND RIGHT -CF WAY IN FLOCK 2 OF FRIENDLY ACRES SUBDIVISIO!
<br />N0. 2, AND AUTHORIZING EXECUTION CF AN IMPROVEMENT AGREEMENT, -seconded by Councilman Granger and car-

<br />Councilman Fields moved to introduce an ordinance disapproving the annexation of certain uninhabited territory
<br />designated I'Edgewood Annexation No. 1-0" to the City of Redwood City, seconded by Councilman Rosselli
<br />and carried.
<br />Councilman Herkner moved adoption of RESOLUTION N0.,3267 DECLARING WEEDS A NUISANCE AND ORDERING THEIR RE-
<br />MOVAL, seconded by Councilman Stehle and carried unanimously on roll call. (public hearing January
<br />9, 1961)
<br />CLAIM CF FLORIAN�BROOKING$ 1844 Lenolt Street, for damages to auto alleged to have been caused by planter
<br />in front of 2417 Broadway. Councilman Fields moved to deny the claim and refer it to our insurance
<br />carrier (MINUTE ORDER #60-263), seconded by Councilman Stehle and carried.
<br />COMMUNICATIONS:
<br />Division of Highways answered the letter of the City Manager regarding the set -back lines of Union
<br />Cemetery. The State answered that their plans for the widening of Woodside road use the cemetery as
<br />' a control and no encroachment on the cemetery is contemplated.
<br />PG&E reported that the master plan for street lighting in Redwood City is- well on its way to completion and
<br />they will make every, effort to have it in the City's hands in advance of the suggested date at the end
<br />of February.
<br />State Board of Equalization regarding State administration of Local Sales and Use Taxes. The State
<br />executed the agreement for administration of Ordinance No. 845 (Uniform Local Sales and Use Tax) which
<br />will become operative on January 1, 1961, when the City Ordinance goes into effect. Their first
