0 <br />WC <br />transmittal to the City will be made in May, 1961 which will represent 90% of the estimated collection for <br />the quarter ended March 31, 1961s and will be followed by allelean-up't payment in June. In accordance with <br />the agreement, administrative costs will be withheld from the amounts transmitted. <br />Division of Highways agreed to a suspension of the grading and paving operations on the contract covering <br />improvement of E1 Camino Real at Broadway through the holiday seasons <br />James V. Fitzgerald, Supervisor -elect, offered his cooperation in the study of mutual problems confronting <br />Redwood City and the county, and asked that a written report be submitted to him by January 1, 1961, or <br />as soon as possible. Councilman Granger moved that the proper authorities be instructed to advise Mr. <br />Fitzgerald that the number one priority is the Five*Points overpass and the $250,000 contribution by the <br />County as previously agreed upon (MINUTE ORDER #60-264), seconded by Councilman Herkner and carried. <br />Karl A. Vollmayer, Librarian, submitted a report on the meeting with the Friendly_ Acres peope regarding a <br />library service in the area. <br />Councilman Granger moved that the City Manager take whatever steps are necessary to install an appropriate placque <br />beneath the tree planted in honor of George McNulty (MINUTE ORDER #60-265), seconded by Councilman Royer and <br />carried. <br />Councilman Granger raised the question of adoption of a resolution by the Mayor's Conference with regard to <br />Civilian Defense. The matter was clarified by the Mayor and Fire Chief Lodi. <br />Discussion of disposition of sales tax monies. After considerable discussion, Councilman Granger moved that the <br />City Attorney be instructed to draw up a resolution of intention of the Council to put aside 80% of the <br />sales tax monies to Capital Outlay and 20% to the General Fund and that the special capital tax of 5¢ would• <br />also be eliminated (MINUTE ORDER #60-266), seconded by Councilman Rosselli. Councilman Royer amended the <br />motion that it be 75% and 25% with the same stipulationsv This amendment lost for lack of a second. Coun- <br />cilman Fields moved to carry this matter over until, after the first of the year in order to give the Council <br />B u <br />more time to study the capital project needs. This amendment also lost for 1Ack of a second. The original <br />motion carried on roll call vote with Councilmen Granger, Herkner, Rosselli, Royer Stehle and Mayor Weymouth <br />voting yes and Councilman Fields voting no. , <br />Councilman Herkner reported that Battation Chief Hart had received a 25 year pin from the Red Cross as a first <br />aid instructor. <br />Councilman Royer moved that the meeting be adjourned to the study room to discuss current litigation problem, <br />seconded by Councilman Rosselli and carried.
