57 <br />Minutes of the Regular Meeting <br />Redwood City Council <br />December 19, 1960, 8:00 P.M. <br />Invocation was led by Reverend Kenneth Senft, Messiah Lutheran•Church. <br />The Clerk administered the loyalty oath too James Slobodian, new member of the Park and Recreation Commission. <br />The Mayor presented the "certificate of appointment„ and congratulated Mr. Slobodian on his appointment. <br />ON ROLL CALL the following were noted present: Councilmen Ron W. Fields, Floyd D. Granger, Sidney D. <br />Herkner, John S. Rosselli, William H. Royer, Harold C. Stehle, Mayor Ray A. Weymouth and City Clerk <br />Helen C. Moore. Also noted present were City Manager J. E. Neal, City Attorney Robert J. Costello, <br />Fire Chief J. L. Lodi, Assessor -Auditor John J. Brophy, Building Inspector S. H.•Kreiss, Police Chief <br />William Faulstich, Planning Director Leonard Knittel, Citi Engineer Glenn M. Jain, Traffic Engineer <br />,'• Arthur U. Eskelin, Street Maintenance Superintendent Doyle Chester and Deputy City Clerk Vivian Rifbjerg. <br />Councilman Fields moved approval -of the minutes of December 12th as mailed, seconded by Councilman Stehle <br />and carried. <br />PUBLIC HEARING ON THE RESOLUTION OF INTENTION BY THE PLANNING COMMISSION TO AMEND SECTION 4/2 OF ORDINANCE <br />N0, 600 TO REZONE AREA KNOWN AS OEDGECLIFF ANNEXATION" FROM AN "U" UNCLASSIFIED DISTRICT TO AN "R -11t <br />SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT. The public hearing was declared open and the affidavits of -notice <br />ordered filed. The report of the Planning Commission was read. There were no written protests. Coun- <br />oilman Fields raised the question of the City obtaining a one foot non -access barrier at the end of <br />the street. There was also considerable discussion on the future resubdivision of this property. Coun- <br />cilman Rosselli moved to continue the public hearing to January 91,h, seconded by Councilman Fields. The <br />motion lost on roll call with Councilmen Fields, Rosselli and Stehle voting yes, Councilmen Granger, <br />Herkner and Mayor Weymouth voting no and Councilman Royer abstaining because of indirect future interest. <br />Councilman Granger moved to close the public hearing, seconded by Councilman Herkner and carried on roll <br />call, Councilmen Granger, Herkner, Rosselli, Stehle and Mayor Weymouth voting yes, Councilman Fields <br />voting no and Councilman Royer abstaining. After further discussion in which the developer was asked <br />to•enter into an improvement agreement, Councilman Granger moved introduction of an ordinance amending <br />Ordinance No. 600, the Zoning Ordinance, to rezone certain herein described property from "U" District <br />to SFR -11t Districts seconded by Councilman Herkner and carried on roll call, Councilmen Granger, Herkner, <br />Rosselliy Stehle and Mayor Weymouth voting yes, Councilman Fields voting no and Councilman Royer ab- <br />staining. <br />PUBLIC HEARING ON THE RESOLUTION(F INTENTION BY THE PLANNING COMMISSION TO AMEND SECTION 4.1 OF ORDINANCE <br />N0. 600 TO rezone from R-2 District to R-1 District Lots 1 through 12, Block 1, Lots 1, 2 and 8, Block <br />2, Woodside Terrace No. 6; Lots 1 through 6, Block 1, Lots 1 through 10, Block 23, Woodside Terrace No. <br />7; Lots 1 and 2, Block 1, Lots 1, 2 and 3. Block 2, Lots 1, 2 and 3, Block 3, Woodside Terrace No. 8 <br />all of which is located on MacDonald Avenue, Bonnie Court; Palm Avenue and Goodwin Avenue. The public <br />hearing was declared open and the affidavits -of notice were ordered filed. The Clerk read the report <br />of the Planning Commission. There being no protests, written or oral, Councilman Royer asked that the <br />records show that there were no people present objecting to the upgrading of their property. Councilman <br />Granger moved that the public hearing be closed, seconded by Councilman Rosselli and carried. <br />Councilman Rosselli moved introduction of an ordinance amending Ordinance No. 600, the Zoning Ordinance, <br />to rezone certain herein described property from"R-211 District to "R-111 District, seconded by Councilman <br />Fields and carried. <br />Councilman Granger moved adoption of ORDINANCE NO. 987 OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY APPROVING THE ANNEXATION <br />TO THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY DESIGNATED "CORDILLERAS GLEN ANNEXATION" <br />AND HEREIN DESCRIBED, AND HEREIN ANNEXING SAID TERRITORY TO SAID CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, seconded by <br />
