regulations are in effect as of the date of application for the building permit or as otherwise <br />required by law. <br /> <br /> b. All Work shall meet or exceed the applicable requirements of the latest <br />editions of the following codes in force in the City of Redwood City, including, but not limited to, <br />all adopted amendments and supplements: the Uniform Building Code (UBC), the Uniform <br />Plumbing Code (UPC), the Uniform Mechanical Code (UMC), and the National Electrical Code <br />(NEC). <br /> <br /> c. All applicable federal, state, and local laws, and the rules and regulations <br /> <br />of governing utility districts and the various other authorities having jurisdiction over the Project, <br />including, but not limited to, the latest rules and regulations of the City Fire Marshal, CAL/OSHA <br />and the State Safety Orders, and the California Labor Code, shall apply to this Agreement <br />throughout, and they shall be deemed to be included in this Agreement as though printed herein <br />or attached hereto. The DB shall assume full and total responsibility for compliance with all <br />applicable laws, rules and regulations of said agencies by its Subcontractors, during all times <br />relevant to this Agreement, and the DB shall be responsible, at no additional cost to the City, for <br />the cost of compliance and/or payment of any penalty assessed by any authority having <br />jurisdiction over the Project. <br /> <br /> d. The Labor Code of the State of California requires that on contracts of <br /> <br />$25,000 or more and where excavation of any trench or trenches is five (5) feet or more in <br />depth, the DB shall submit to the City, for Review and Concurrence, a detailed plan showing the <br />design of shoring, bracing, sloping, or other provisions for worker protectiO~ from the hazard of <br />caving ground during the excavation of such trench or trenches. This plan shall be submitted to <br />and approved by the local permitting authorities prior to any excavation..
