Box 391 Redwood City, CA 94064 RE: REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL COMPENSATION FOR OUT-OF-SCOPE PROFESSIONAL SERVICES-MARINA SHORES VILLAGE PROJECT EIR Dear Tom: Prior to June 2002, a number of out-of-scope tasks were authorized by the City, with payment provided through the contingency budget for the EIR (see Attachment 1 hereto). We are by this letter requesting additional compensation for extra costs incurred by our office since June 2002 for out-of-scope professiona~ services towards preparation and delivery of the Administrative Draft, Screen Check Draft, and public release Draft EIR. In the interest of expediting the EIR effort, we have avoided requests for additional amounts from the applicant as each added cost has occurred. Instead, we have intentionally deferred an associated formal request for additional funding to now, the beginning of the Final EIR phase, to enable submi~al of one consolidated request. Meanwhile, we have been periodically reporting to City staff and the applicant regarding the incurred additional cost situation in our routine communications between June 2002 and now, and have been indicating that this cumulative request for additional compensation would be submitted at the beginning cf the Final EIR phase, after we had the opportunity to evaluate the extent of public comment received on the Draft EIR. Current EIR Budqet Status and Additional Costs Breakdown, The total added cost incurred by Wagstaff and Associates beyond the balance in the existing EIR fund is $58,110. A summary breakdown of the current EIR budget status and this additional compensation request follows. More detailed breakdowns are attached hereto (Attachments 1 through 5).
