Item No. 6 (continued) <br />Andrew Zack, 516 Crest View, Belmont, representing Zack Construction company <br />and Murry Construction of Fremont, objected to the method and duration of <br />bidding procedures, stating that he first read of the call for bids in the <br />Daily Pacific Builder on March 30, 1987, and bids were due on April 17. Mr. <br />Zack also said he understands other prospective bidders were on a list who <br />received notice earlier than the date the Builder published the information. <br />Director of Public Works Addiego described the bid procedure, noting that it <br />commenced March 16, 1987, with the Council adoption of RESOLUTION NO. 10460 <br />and that, as is customary, his staff sent bid information to those who have <br />previously requested to be on the City's construction bid list which is open <br />to any contractor who asks. <br />City Attorney Schricker said that the City's official newspaper is the <br />Redwood City Almanac which meets legal requirements and notice may be <br />published elsewhere in trade papers by the City or others. <br />It was suggested that Mr. Zack ask to have his name and that of the Murry <br />Construction Company placed on the City's bidder list for future notice of <br />projects. <br />Title read.
