M /S: Chandler /Bury <br />RESOLUTION NO. 10669 AMENDING THE GENERAL PLAN OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY BY <br />ADOPTING THE AMENDED CENTRE AREA REVITALIZATION PLAN AS PART OF THE GENERAL <br />PLAN <br />adopted unanimously by roll call vote. <br />---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- <br />ORAL COMMUNICATIONS - (See below also) <br />a. Mark Gilham, 227 D Street, presented a petition from residents of the D <br />Street neighborhood regarding safety of children with regard to speeding <br />motorists and requested action be taken to force drivers to obey speed <br />limits. <br />CONSENSUS: Mayor Claire determined it to be the consensus of Council <br />to refer the petition to the Traffic Committee for investigation and <br />recommendation. (1603 -03) <br />MEMO 11/3/87 <br />---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- <br />MATTERS OF COUNCIL INTEREST <br />a. Councilman Stangel referred to a letter from Browning Ferris Industries, Inc. <br />(BFI) which he received in response to his inquiry regarding the status of <br />the Ox Mountain landfill site. <br />CONSENSUS: Mayor Claire determined it to be the consensus of Council to <br />refer the letter from BFI to the Legislative Committee for consideration. <br />MEMO 11/3/87 <br />b. Councilman Greenalch referred to correspondence from John J.P. McCarthy, 2315 <br />Euclid Avenue, regarding the level of service from BFI. <br />Mayor Claire reported that the letter has been referred to staff for reply <br />and noted that the writer had sent a copy to BFI also. <br />c. Councilman Greenalch reported that he had observed eight cars parked in the <br />front yard of residential property on Industrial Boulevard at B Street and <br />requested staff to look into the situation. <br />MEMO 11/3/87 <br />d. Councilman Greenalch referred to correspondence from Raymond P. Lawrence, 77 <br />Middlefield Road, calling attention to the accumulation of teenagers, loud <br />music and offensive language at the MBJ Ranch Room on Broadway. Councilman <br />Greenalch reported that he has had complaints from others about the situation <br />also. <br />Councilman Stangel reported that the Downtown Merchants are working with the <br />Police Chief to improve the situation immediately. <br />Mayor Claire reported that he has replied to Mr. Lawrence's letter. <br />Reg.Mtg.
