Status report re nuisance abatement - 109 Wilson Street
(per RESOLUTION NO. 10037, 10/21/85; continued from
12/16/85 and 1/6/86) (702 -11)
Chief Building Official Malkemus reported that the building at 109 Wilson
Street has been boarded up by Mark Watson, its prospective owner, and that
Mr. and Mrs. Watson have reported making a firm offer on a lot on Cassia
Street where they plan to locate the house and rehabilitate it. The Watsons
have not yet had a response to their offer, and have requested an extension.
Mr. Malkemus said that he is willing to regard the boarding up of the
building as a temporary abatement of the nuisance and grant a 30 -day
extension to allow the Watsons to complete their negotiations.
Mr. Malkemus said that if the owner of the house provides a written statement
designating Mr. Watson as responsible for the house, then a building permit
can be issued to allow the Watsons to do the rehabilitation work necessary
for moving the house, noting that such a permit will not be a license to
commence the usual 180 day "time clock ". He stated that a condition of the
permit would be that the permittee provide the necessary certificates of
insurance and the time frame anticipated for reconstruction, with completion
within 60 days.
Mark Watson, 1418 Middlefield Road, said he does not intend to rehabilitate
the house fully and leave it on the site, but will prepare it to be moved and
complete rehabilitation on the new site. Mr. Watson said he believes the
owner will agree to designate him so that he can proceed as suggested by Mr.
Malkemus.
MINUTE BOOK NO. 46
Page No. 140
Reg.Mtg.
1/13/86
Page 4
