Item No. 2 (continued)
M /S: Chandler /Mosher to reverse the decision of the Zoning Administrator and
grant the appeal of application for Use Permit to allow installation of a
12 -foot antenna on top of an existing 173 -foot tower, 3175 Spring Street to
Edward C. Patton, architect, on behalf of AT &T Communications, with the
antenna to be placed in the center of the roof with a "penthouse" enclosure
built around it on three sides, based on the following findings:
1) that the establishment, maintenance and operation of the use applied for
will not be detrimental to the health, safety, peace, morals, comfort and
general welfare of persons residing in the neighborhood and will not be
detrimental or injurious to property in the neighborhood or to the
general welfare of the City in that the height for which the Use permit
has been applied constitutes a relatively minor increase over the
existing height of the antenna structure;
2) that an interior location within the existing structure would be
disproportionately expensive in comparison to the benefits to be obtained
by the use being permitted;
3) that the antenna can be located and constructed upon the roof in such a
manner as to minimize visibility from the ground level; and that
4) the permitted use will be a necessary convenience service to residents
and businesses within Redwood City.
The motion carried on the following roll call vote.
Ayes: Councilman Bury, Chandler, Mosher, Rhodes, Stangel
Noes: Councilman Claire and Mayor Britschgi
MINUTE ORDER NO. 86 -39
---------------------------------------------------------------------------- - - - - --
3.
