Public Hearing - Community Development Block Grant <br />Program application for 1986 -87. (705 -02) <br />Report: Community Development Director 6/4/86 attaching Planning Commission <br />record. <br />Affidavit of Publication of Notice of Hearing on file. <br />Housing Coordinator Church replied to questions relating to administration <br />and contingency allocations and, in further response to question, said that <br />funds cannot be held for future use beyond 1 -112 times the annual allocation <br />to the City. <br />Mayor Claire declared the public hearing open at 8:50 p.m. <br />Ken Love, spoke for Elaine Cornell, 542 Quartz Street, reporting her <br />favorable experience with the Home Sharing Program. In response to question, <br />he said that probably college students could be accommodated also. <br />Lois Almond, 631 Columbia Drive, San Mateo, Director of Home Sharing Program, <br />said that students could be helped with housing, but that long term <br />arrangements are the focus of the program. <br />Jolly Perkocha, officer of the Home Sharing Program, described the Redwood <br />City program and introduced persons in the audience associated with it. <br />Donni Grotti, Tri County Apartment Association, 792 Meridian Way, San Jose, <br />referred to her letter to Council of June 5, 1986 requesting information from <br />Midpeninsula Citizens for Fair Housing (MCFH), stating her association <br />addressed the request to Council because of the City's agreement with MCFH, <br />noting that she had not made the request of MCFH. <br />Dick Rowe, Executive Director of MCFH, 457 Kingsley, Palo Alto, said MCFH <br />makes information available upon request or at their own initiative, with the <br />exception of confidential information. Mr. Rowe said it is his intention to <br />develop a standard monthly reporting form to submit to each jurisdiction to <br />which MCFH reports. <br />Mayor Claire invited anyone else present who wished to speak to do so.
