M /S: Stang el /Greenalch to grant the request of the Service League of San Mateo County for $5,000 for 1986 -87 instead of the $3,430 recommended. Carried by majority voice vote. (City Council recessed from 10:30 to 10:40 a.m. Councilman Bury did not return that day. ) POLICY DEVELOPMENT AND IMPLEMENTATION (Considered out of order) (Page 61) Joe Hardegree, Neighborhood Boards, described the status of the program and urged the recommended increase over the previous year be approved in the recommendation. No change was made. LEISURE, CULTURAL AND INFORMATION (Page 48) M /S: LaBerge /Chandler to establish the position of Park Ranger in the 1986 -87 Annual Budget whose duties would include patrol, on -site service review, emergency assistance and an interpretative program. Carried unanimously by voice vote. CONSENSUS: At the suggestion of Vice Mayor Chandler, Mayor Claire determined it to be the consensus of Council that the establishment of a coordinating council for youth activity providers in the City be considered. CONSENSUS: At the suggestion of Councilman Br itschg i, Mayor Claire determined it to be the consensus of Council to ask staff to review the request of Beryl Darnell of the Senior Affairs Commission that a recreation instructor for the Senior Center be employed on a 20 -hour per week basis to provide programs on weekends. COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT (Considered out of order) (Page 28 M /S: Britschgi /Greenalch that the amount of $20,000 recommended for the San Mateo County Convention and Visitors Bureau be increased to $25,000 in 1986 -87 and to keep the $30,000 recommended for 1987 -88.
