M /S: Bury /Br it schg i <br />(1) AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY ADOPTING THE FINAL BUDGET OF <br />THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY FOR THE FISCAL YEAR JULY 1, 1986 JUNE 30, <br />1987; PROVIDING FOR THE APPROPRIATION AND EXPENDITURE OF ALL SUMS SET <br />FORTH IN SAID BUDGET; PROVIDING FOR EMERGENCY EXPENDITURES, <br />TRANSFERS, ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATIONS AND CANCELLATIONS OF EXISTING <br />APPROPRIATIONS; ADOPTING THE BUDGETS FOR GENERAL IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT <br />NO. 1 -64, NO. 1 -65, NO. 2 -65 AND NO. 3 -65 FOR THE FISCAL YEAR JULY <br />1, 1986 - JUNE 30, 1987; MAKING PROVISION FOR INTERIM EXPENDITURES AS <br />OF JULY 1, 1987; AND REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 1915 AN ALL ORDINANCES <br />AND RESOLUTIONS IN CONFLICT HEREWITH approved for first reading; and <br />(2) RESOLUTION NO. 10252 ESTABLISHING APPROPRIATIONS LIMIT FOR FISCAL <br />YEAR 1986 -87 <br />adopted unanimously by roll call vote. <br />--------------------------------------------------------------------------- - - - - -- <br />ORAL COMMUNICATIONS <br />There being no objection, Mayor Claire ordered that Oral Communications be heard <br />out of order at this time. <br />1. Charles J. McAleer, 406 Arlington Road, said that skateboards have become <br />a serious hazard on the streets and sidewalks and asked that action be <br />taken to make it illegal to use such boards there. Mr. McAleer also <br />requested that joggers not be allowed to jog in the streets where they <br />also interfere with traffic and create hazards for themselves and <br />others. <br />Mr. McAleer also suggested that the traffic signals on El Camino Real at <br />Brewster and Broadway be synchronized so that traffic does not back up in <br />the intersections. He also recommended allowing street parking on one <br />side of the street only in neighborhoods with narrow streets. <br />CONSENSUS: Mayor Claire determined it to be the consensus of Council to <br />ask the staff to look into the hazards presented by skateboarders and <br />joggers as described by Mr. McAleer; to discuss the traffic signal <br />problems on E1 Camino Real with CalTrans which has responsibility for <br />them; and to ask staff to give consideration to Mr. McAleer's suggestion <br />with regard to parking on only one side of narrow streets. <br />MEMO 7/24/86 <br />2.
