Item No. 30 (continued out of order) <br />In response to question, City Manager Smith reported that the Council had <br />denied the subject request in July and referred it to the Housing and alluman <br />Concerns Committee for consideration as part of an overall Human Services <br />Element in coordination with other City services, with the study to be made <br />in the 1986 -87 fiscal year. <br />M /S: Stangel /Greenalch to approve the request of AARP #3137 and other senior <br />organizations to hire a parttime person to work at the Veterans Memorial <br />Senior Center to allow weekend use of the Center by seniors. <br />Carried unanimously by voice vote. <br />MINUTE ORDER NO. 86 -164 <br />In response to request, City Manager Smith said that a report will be <br />prepared; regarding how senior use of the Center on weekends relates to other <br />weekend uses, such as receptions and other private events for which the <br />Center is available for rent. <br />MEMO 9/18/86 <br />---------------------------------------------------------------------------- - - - - -- <br />ORAL COMMUNICATIONS <br />1. Dr. Frank Sheetz, 1903 East Bayshore #28, representing the Committee on <br />Aging, asked Council to go on record in support of AB 2501 and SB 338 <br />relating to senior housing and distributed information on the subject. <br />M /S: Chandler /Bury that since the Council is already on record in support of <br />the Save Senior Housing legislation in approving the recommendations of <br />Legislative Committee Report 86 -3 that the support be reiterated at this time <br />with a telegram to the Governor urging his approval of AB 2051. (301 -06) — <br />Carried unanimously by voice vote. <br />MINUTE ORDER NO. 86 -165 <br />2. Fence violations (203 -15) <br />a. Colomba Castenada, 3013 Sterling Way, requested that a revision of the <br />regulations relating to fences be enacted, stating she has been cited for <br />having an illegal fence and suggesting that the fence height is necessary <br />for privacy in her small corner lot. <br />b. Orlando Di Anqelo, 1128 Cleveland, said he does not believe the fences <br />which exceed permitted heights creat vision problems for drivers or are a <br />haz ard. <br />c.
