Oral Communications (continued) <br />(3) Kenneth and Lori Herdman, 3550 Jefferson Avenue, displayed a slide showing <br />the road design, and expressed concern regarding the portion from Dover Road <br />to Farm Hill Boulevard; described deficiencies in the road design, and <br />suggested as remedies that parking should be abolished in the area <br />completely, that there should be a 4 -foot bicycle lane, leaving two 12 -foot <br />traffic lanes; that the curb should be raised so that all stretches of the <br />street have uniform elevation of curbs; undergrounding of utility lines; and <br />correction of super elevation on the downhill lane. <br />(4) Zeit Wang, 3773 Jefferson Avenue, described difficulties in getting out of <br />his driveway at the hairpin curve section of Jefferson where he lives, and <br />also believes that a 25 MPH speed limit sign is needed. <br />(5) Marie Valerio, 3585 Jefferson Avenue, described a number of hazards on <br />Jefferson Avenue such as children on skateboards, heavy truck traffic, dirt <br />bikes, and speeding. <br />(6) Hazel Galbreth, 3818 Jefferson Avenue, expressed concern about speed, and <br />also regarding the left -hand turn from Jefferson Avenue onto Farm Hill <br />Boulevard, which she stated is hazardous. <br />City Manager Smith and Police Chief Guardino commented and replied to questions <br />regarding the fact that the street is not designed to handle heavy traffic; that <br />stop signs probably would not be warranted; that the heavy truck traffic will <br />diminish because the construction project is nearing completion; and the fact that <br />the area is under dual jurisdiction. <br />(Council recessed from 9:35 to 9:45 p.m.) <br />Vice Mayor Mosher left the meeting and did not return <br />---------------------------------------------------------------------------- - - - - -- <br />REPORTS OF BOARDS, COMMISSIONS AND COMMITTEES <br />None <br />---------------------------------------------------------------------------- - - - - -- <br />REPORTS OF CITY MANAGER <br />6. Seaport Centre Assessment District Acquisition <br />Agreement (407 -03) <br />Report of City Manager and Director of Public Works 9/18/85 <br />Philip Assaf, Wilson, Morton, Assaf and McElligott, summarized the purpose of <br />the agreement which is part of the assessment proceedings commenced in <br />February, and noted that the agreement is between the developer and the <br />City, and provides, among other things, that if the project does not proceed, <br />there is no obligation on the part of the City. <br />Title read.
