Approval of plans, specifications and call for bids - <br />Roosevelt Avenue, Phase I - Utilities (702 -02) <br />Report of City Manager and Director of Public Works 1/23/85 <br />Director of Public Works Addiego presented the subject report using slides of <br />the area and of the reconstruction schedule for Phase I of the project. <br />In response to questions, Mr. Addiego said that it will be more economical <br />and create fewer hardships on residents if Roosevelt Avenue surface <br />improvements are delayed until utilities work on Oak Avenue is completed <br />first; that the Traffic Engineer is preparing detour and project signs for <br />the area and information flyers which will be mailed to all residents and <br />distributed to motorists accustomed to using the streets; that every possible <br />effort will be made to provide access to residents and businesses in the <br />affected area; and that it is hoped that during the necessary construction <br />period that those in the area who will benefit from the project will be <br />understanding and cooperative. <br />It was suggested that the Public Works Department contact Mrs. Betty Caceres, <br />417 Roosevelt Avenue, who was active in urging the City to proceed with the <br />Roosevelt Avenue project to enlist her assistance in informing neighbors of <br />the work to be undertaken there. <br />MEMO 1/31/85 <br />Title read.
