Public Hearing - Nuisance Abatement, dilapidated <br />building at 121 -131 Monroe <br />Report of City Manager and Chief Building Official 4/1/85 <br />Those present in the interest of the matter who might give testimony were <br />sworn by the Deputy City Clerk. <br />Chief Building Official Malkemus presented a series of slides as he described <br />the deficiencies in the buildings involving health, fire, and safty hazards, <br />including dilapidated condition of the structures, lack of foundation in one <br />of the units, unsanitary conditions and debris inside and out, inoperative <br />rear door and inoperative stall shower, and numerous other defects. <br />Mr. Malkemus replied to questions by Council, advising that the new owner <br />intends to demolish the structures and rebuild, although he had not seen the <br />plans. <br />Mayor Britschgi declared the public hearing open at 8:30 p.m. <br />Affidavits of Mailing and Posting of Notice to Abate Nuisance are on file. <br />Louis Bandov, 601 DeAnza Avenue, San Carlos, stated that he had recently <br />bought the property, that it will take a little time to acquire necessary <br />permits and make financial arrangements.
